Hello guys I had a quick question.

My lawyer filled out all of our paperwork and sent it out to Chicago, and he said he would also come with us to the interview.

As some of you may know, my interview was canceled, but my wife and I are still going to go even though my attorney says I should wait. My question is, will USCIS ask me why I didnt bring my lawyer with me to the interview if they did interview me that day? If so is there a form I can print out or something were it states that I will not be using a lawyer so i can have it for the interview?

Thanks guys

Seems to me, you're out either way. If you go to the cancelled interview without your lawyer and they do interview & approve you, you're out however much you paid for him to be there with you. If you bring him to the cancelled interview and they don't interview you, you're still paying for him to be there. Does that make any sense? I guess I'm trying to say you're paying for him whether he's there or not, atleast, that's why I get when you say you've "already paid for that service".

when you go make sure you bring everything with you! Again I suggest you go. With your lawyer, I doubt they will ask you about your lawyer. Lawyers are there to make sure IO doesn't ask you illegal questions. You don't have anything to hide you are fine!. GL again

Because some have not gone to a cancelled interview and later received a rejection notice that their AOS was denied for failure to appear at the interview (the one that was supposedly cancelled).

Like Karly-n-Bruce said, INS is really strange business. I've heard a few stories of people not going to AOS interview because of a canceled letter and later on receive a letter stating that their file has been abandoned. There is no hurt in going to your canceled interview. Worst thing is them telling you to go home right?

Cassie,

Because too often cancellation notices are sent out in error, the interview is not cancelled, and the applicant has their adjustment denied for failure to attend.
