Significant increase in K1 visa processing at USEM in July

This has already been suspected, but the July numbers have recently come out for K1 processing in July at USEM.  That number was 149 vs 49 for June 2021.  It is still way off from the pre-Covid time of 500-600/month but I believe this is the first month since March 2020 that was over 60 or so.  People in July were reporting getting interviews but the numbers are now out to substantiate that.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

I suppose 6 K1 interviews per day is a step up from 2 per day, but... excuse me for not being more enthusiastic.

Well, sometimes just need to look at anything at all that is positive, no matter how small it is. :)  I could have said that the new numbers are out and at 150 a month, it will take 3.5 to 4 years to clear out the current backlog at that pace, or even if USEM gets back to processing 600 K1s a month, it will take at a minimum 10-12 months to clear out the backlog.  Plus that doesnt include the 15-20% (backed by actual data) of applicants that will fail the medical and require 2 months of cultures to grow for TB, plus additional time for people who will also receive 221g's at their interview, etc etc :)  Added to that, the minimum of 10 months to wait in the US for approval of the work and travel authorization, etc etc :)

Its better to look at it as the numbers have at least increased, a little. :)

Probably the number of new K1 applicants adding to the backlog are dwindling too.  The pool of potential K1 applicants must be drying up due to extended travel bans and the 2 year meeting rule.

Exactly.  I would imagine that is the situation for K1s for the Philippines.
