Hi everyone,

I'm kind of confused because I'm seeing different steps on what's happening next

Our case was approved August 10th but it wasn't sent to the NVC till August 27th. Our congressman's representative was able to talk to the NVC and get us our new case number so we have that now.

I've seen some places that we should get a welcome letter from the NVC so we submit documents to them and other places saying we don't have to do anything and the NVC will send it to the embassy and we'll eventually get a letter from them. So I'm wondering what's the case

We haven't gotten anything in the mail since the NOA2 from August 10th, so what should we be waiting for next and is there anything we can do to have more info or speed things up?

Thanks!!

K1 fillers do not get welcome letter/email from NVC. Once ready NVC will forward your case to the beneficiary's country embassy.

K1 doldurucuları NVC'den hoş geldiniz mektubu/e-postası almazlar . Hazır olduğunda NVC , davanızı yararlanıcının ülke büyükelçiliğine iletecektir.

I just got off the phone with them. They told me it takes 45-60 days to get an invoice number. The lady said they don't expedite k1 visas, which I was planning to do. With K1 visas, they don't do anything except fwd to specified embassy when the embassy requests it.

Until the embassy requests K1 visas they get held at NVC. She told me to call back around Nov. 6th 😫😭🥺. Doesn't make sense because I have heard other people have gotten their invoice number in less than a month. I'm going to call once a week to check on our status.

That’s not true. I expedited my case (medical) when my case was at NVC and was approved. My case was sent to Santo Domingo a day after the expedite was approved. And I know plenty of people in my group who have expedited at NVC so I’m not sure why she’s saying that. Nvc received my case 4 weeks after my approval and on the fifth week they assigned my new case number. After the 4 week I called every day or so to get my new case number. I wanted to be able to follow my case online.
