How long is it generally taking people to go from 'Ready' at Consulate to the Welcome Letter (packet 3) ??

For me it was less than a week. I had to email my consulate because I didn't receive the steps as of what is needed and then next day I received the email. So technically like 4 days

I see.. I'll copy and paste what I got in my email. I'm pretty sure it isn't very different for all countries.

1) Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-160)

You will need to log onto the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://ceac.state.gov to complete the Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-160).  Each applicant, including children under 21 included in the petition, must have their own Form DS-160 visa application.  Print and keep the DS-160 barcode page.  You will not need to print the full application.

2) List of Required Documents

You and each child traveling with you must collect the civil documents required to support your visa application.  The list of required documents can be found at travel.state.gov

To learn about the civil documents for Ecuador accepted by this Consulate, please visit ec.usembassy.gov.

3) Schedule your Visa Interview Appointment

Only after you have completed the steps above, you may schedule an appointment for your K-1 visa interview through our Visa Appointment Service at www.usvisa-info.com.  To schedule an appointment, you must first register an account at this website.

Please note that the new interview process requires two steps, as indicated below:

In the first step, you need to attend the Consulate on your appointment date to deliver your documents.

In the second step, you must return to the Consulate the day after you have delivered your documents for your interview with the Consular Officer.  The appointment time will be given to you on your first visit.  Your stay in Guayaquil will be for at least two days.

4) Visa Processing Fee

The processing fee of $265 is paid online at the time you schedule your appointment (Step 3).

5) Schedule and Complete a Medical Examination

You and each child traveling with you are required to schedule a medical appointment with one of our authorized physicians.  You must complete your medical examination as soon as you have scheduled an appointment and before attending to your visa interview.  The list of our approved doctors can be found at travel.state.gov.

Effective October 1, 2021, medical examinations for immigrant and K visa applicants will require full COVID-19 vaccination.  Applicants must complete the vaccine series and provide documentation to the panel physician in person before completion of the medical examination.  As with all vaccinations, there are specific waivers that cover reasons why an applicant could not receive the required vaccination.  For more information about this requirement, please visit https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/panel-physicians/covid-19-technical-instructions.html.

6) Interview Guidelines

Read our interview guidelines at travel.state.gov to learn about any special actions that you need to take before your visa interview.

IMPORTANT: If you do not take any action or communicate with this Consulate regarding your K-1 visa case for a period of one year, by law the Department of State must terminate your visa application.

Anlıyorum.. E-postama gelenleri kopyalayıp yapıştıracağım. Her ülke için çok farklı olmadığından eminim.

1) Online Göçmen Olmayan Vize Başvurusu (DS-160)

Çevrimiçi Göçmen Olmayan Vize Başvurusunu (DS-160) tamamlamak için Dışişleri Bakanlığı'nın Konsolosluk Elektronik Başvuru Merkezi'nde (CEAC) https://ceac.state.gov adresinde oturum açmanız gerekecektir  . Dilekçede yer alan 21 yaşından küçük çocuklar da dahil olmak üzere her başvuru sahibinin kendi Form DS-160 vize başvurusu olmalıdır. DS-160 barkod sayfasını yazdırın ve saklayın. Tam uygulamayı yazdırmanız gerekmeyecek.

2) Gerekli Belgelerin Listesi

Gerekli belgelerin listesi  travel.state.gov adresinde bulunabilir

Randevu saati size ilk ziyaretinizde verilecektir. Guayaquil'deki konaklamanız en az iki gün olacaktır.

4) Vize İşlem Ücreti

265$ işlem ücreti, randevunuzu planladığınız zaman online olarak ödenir (3. Adım).

5) Bir Tıbbi Muayene Planlayın ve Tamamlayın

Siz ve sizinle birlikte seyahat eden her çocuk, yetkili doktorlarımızdan birinden tıbbi randevu almanız gerekmektedir. Randevu alır almaz ve vize görüşmenize katılmadan önce tıbbi muayenenizi tamamlamanız gerekir. Onaylı doktorlarımızın listesi  travel.state.gov adresinde bulunabilir. .

Vize görüşmenizden önce yapmanız gereken özel işlemler hakkında bilgi edinmek için travel.state.gov adresindeki görüşme yönergelerimizi okuyun .

I. Why can't I open an account here?

Ok so the wife doesn't need to have her name in the dependent section?

Sorry for the late reply. This is what I found when researching your question. Hope it helps

"You do not claim a spouse as a dependent.  When you are married and living together, you can only file a tax return as either Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately.  You would want to file as MFJ even if one spouse has little or no income. "

This means the wife should not be listed as dependent .
