i applied for I-485 AOS together with I-846 and I-765 about 10 days ago to the Chicago lockbox

what now? i just wait to hear back?

i'm a bit confused the relationship between the USCIS and the NVC and dept of state. not sure who is processing the I-485 now.

USCIS is processing the I-485 and now you sit and prepare to wait a long time for any updates, starting with watching out for your biometrics appointment  but that’s a few months from now.

good luck!

If she isn't in the US you wait until the NVC requests documents.

You didn't update your timeline so I didn't see that she is here on a B2.   It can take a few weeks to get the receipts.

NVC (DOS) will not be involved in an adjustment of status.  USCIS will adjudicate all the applicable forms.  Did you indicate, on the I-130, that she is adjusting status inside the US?  or did you notify NVC that she will be adjusting status instead of consular processing?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Please clarify...

You filed an I130 while she was abroad and then she decided to come to the US as a tourist and while being advised at entry that she was not allowed to adjust status as a tourist, has now tried to adjust status?

Or she was already here as a tourist when you met and married and filed all the mentioned forms after the fact?

Your timeline is blank so it's hard to discern your situation.
