Timeline expectation after Embassy Interview

I know the website says to allow 3 to 5 weeks after you pass an Embassy interview before getting everything back, but I was wondering if that timeline was a stretched out? My lawyer said typically 3 to 5 days. I just wanted to double check with this group before I bought a plane ticket.

Her interview is September 22nd and I was going to fly down there on October 11th. As long as the interview goes well, should we reasonably expect to have her passport and visa back by the 11th.

It depends mostly on the country.  Some take about a week, some take longer, and a few can take months (for background checks).

It's helpful if you can fill out your timeline.

It's reasonable to expect it, and most likely she will have it back by then, but no guarantee.

I think the bigger worry is if she gets Administrative Processing (or even worse, refused).  I think that is more likely to happen than her getting approved on the 22nd and not having the passport back by the 11th.
