US Citizen filing for Mom from Jamaica.  The I130 has been approved and last 3 years tax docs are required.  She was a student for those years and did not file taxes (her dad filed for her as a dependent).  She will be using a joint sponsor for the petition.  Please say if her college transcripts are enough proof that She did not file.  What else can she submit as proof?

She will have to indicate on the I-864 why she was not required to file. (income below filing threshold, etc).  Being a student does not exempt a person from filing taxes if required.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I realized.  Thx.  They have given me directives for adding a joint sponsor but I am not seeing the option to add.  Do I need to pay the invoice for the petitioner first?
