Part of me worries that if it does speed up it'll be primarily for newer filers versus the poor folks who've already been waiting a long time :(

That's probably going to be the case. USCIS did it many times in the past with marriage cases, asylums etc.

Was your case transferred to another office after applying for N400?

Sadly, this is pretty normal nowadays.

Hi @OldUser,

Here is my timeline for I-751

October 11, 2022 Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken

September 30, 2022 We transferred your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, to another USCIS office that now has jurisdiction over your case. ( NBC KS was in the receipt)

September 28, 2022 Your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, was transferred to another office for processing.

September 9, 2021 We received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence.

For N-400:

September 7, 2022: We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice (NBC MO was in the receipt)

September 7, 2022: Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS.

Today I talked to a customer representative . According to her the I-751 is in Texas Service Center although I have not received any notice so I asked her again to confirm.  According to her, I-751 is in Texas and N-400 is In NBC.  Does it men more waiting game and cases will be delayed for processing?

I have very similar PDs though my I-751 is at the Nebraska Service Center, and I filed my N400 online.

Haven't heard anything other than biometrics taken for both cases. Hoping for some movement soon!

N400 is going to be your state's local USCIS. From NBC to your state. Like this screenshot.

  • 2 weeks later...

I filed my I-751 in September 2021. Fingerprints applied in October 2021; nothing has happened since. Filed for my N400 in September 2022, got my interview notice in December and did the interview last week. My I-751 was never transferred, and while the officer interviewed my spouse and I together first, she couldn't adjudicate on the I-751 since she didn't have the file.

It's been a week to the day since my N400 interview, and no movement on either case. More waiting.

I guess there is a reason the IO interviewed both of you, so when the IO get the I751 file can approve it  or cancel it since approved your citizenship.. Otherwise if it was just citizenship interview then IO would interviewed just the applicant.

I was proactive and took my spouse with me, they hadn’t requested he be there. When the officer called for me, I told her I had a pending I-751 and that my spouse is with me if she wants to interview us for that, she said sure. We walked in to her office and then she said “oh I don’t have your file.” But she did an I-751 interview anyway, jr was brief and simple.

Today I had my interview in Greer, SC. It was very quick and easy. I brought my husband with me but he wasn’t allowed in the building, the officer said that she didn’t need him for the interview because I submitted tons of proof for both my ROC and n400. She’s the supervisor at this office and mentioned that she would approve both my n400 and ROC once she had the file but that it will take some time because LIN seems to have it  still.
