Always ask to speak to a supervisor (politely). Most of them are aware of the expired green card/letter situation. I had a prior spouse have this situation flying home from Ukraine via Amsterdam. No issues on the outbound flight. It all worked out.

Right, and that's what I'm saying. And I am not saying one has to get nasty or anything, but if they deny boarding, it is within your rights to request a supervisor. And if the supervisor denies boarding (which I doubt if the extension letter is unexpired) one should politely should them the carrier guide. All I'm saying is, don't take no for an answer so easily when you know it's within your rights.

So then what should one do? Just accept whatever they tell you, even though they don’t have the right to deny you boarding?

You make an attempt at politely and diplomatically clarifying the issue.

One thing is for sure, puffing your chest out claiming you have the right to entry and they have no authority to deny entry isn't going to end well.

the right to entry

I have never said that. You have the right to board, which is very, very different.

Of course! But you have to clarify the issue with the right people, not an Embassy employer as someone suggested.

You just love confrontation don't you?

I've noticed that most of your posts are always written as if what you say is the way it is, no questions asked, period.

If anyone ventures to have even a slightly different approach or angle you never seem to want to just let it go.

We are talking about a process that has a multitude of outcomes that can be difficult to control. Some situations/questions have solutions/answers that are clear cut and defined but in many situations they aren't as clear cut. The best we can do is offer "advice" or "recommend" understanding that what we say isn't always going to be the case as uncertainty is inevitable.

Bottom line is that risk is there when traveling outside of the country. So it's up to each person on whether or not they want to leave the country knowing that the possibility of complications when returning is a possibility.

Hello!

I haven’t been on in a looong time. We filed our ROC i751 on September 28, 266 days ago…. I haven’t heard anything…. Is this the current, normal time line??? We did receive the receipt letter and extension, it provides, but nothing more.

No biometrics?

If that’s your case, here’s what I did (and it worked). I filed for ROC on February this year. Seeing that by the end of March I hadn’t gotten anything regarding biometrics, I filed a service request for a missing letter. Voila! A week later my biometrics got waived.

Can you please share how you did that?

Thanks

Absolutely! Here’s the Link to an e- request . I filled all the information, and I think I chose “appointment” for the type of notice missing. And then in the text space I wrote something along the lines of “I haven’t received my biometrics appointment”

Looking at the spreadsheets it seems like everyone outside of the California Service Center is looking at a long wait. Who would have thunk it))))

I noticed that, too. You never know when things can suddenly change, though! Surprises happen - don't they? 😄
