Hi Everyone,

I hope you guys are doing fine beside waiting for the new green cards. For some personal reason, I need to fly back home for around 20 days in Dec. My questions were probably asked elsewhere but I would love to hear confirmations again from everyone for peace of mind:

1/I have not had the 10-year card yet. Can I still come back with my expired GC and extension letter?

2/If I don't apply for N-400 before I go,  when earliest can I apply in the case I will be out the US for 20 days? My sister argues with me if I leave without a pending N-400, I have to add 18 months before I can again. Is it true?

Thanks!

And your valid passport. Yes.

You can apply whenever you were planning to. 20 days outside doesn’t affect your eligibility whatsoever.

No, but they do give you a stamp on your passport that acts as such I think. Call them and ask for an info pass appointment

I am getting anxious again sis. Just found out last week that I need to travel internationally for work between September to October. No definite date yet. Didn't have to worry traveling domestic but you know how nerve-wracking it is to travel internationally due to the hassles it comes with. My passport is still in my old name.

I pray that we all get some good news this week!

Don’t forget to travel with your marriage certificate, in case they want to see proof of the name change. I’ve never been asked for this, but is better to be prepared.

Yup I brought all of it when I traveled in 2020. I just am extremely anxious about not having an actual physical card. So much hassle. Might travel in the fall. Hopefully we're all approved by then.

If we received our 24-month extension letters September of 2021, when will it expire?

I will be traveling for work in the Philippines between September- November. Not sure of the travel dates yet. I've read some travelers not accepted in their connecting airports even when they have their extension letter and expired green card.

-Do I need to get an I-551 stamp?

-How long is the process?

-Who has experience traveling to Philippines with an extension letter?
