It seems the Embassy in Ghana is back in business! I woke up this morning to an email from NVC with my interview appointment for 10-18th! Omg...finally we have been dq'd since 2-21-20 and have been waiting for an interview for almost 2 years! We are an Ir1...keep checking your emails, Ghana is back!

Yes Ghana is back, they have scheduled everyone DQ in February 2021

Its really hard to tell how fast or slow they will continue to process cases. Accra stopped requesting cases mid February 2020 from NVC. We were Dq'd 2-21-20 and just missed the last batch of cases to be forwarded to Accra. I have been waiting for almost 2 years for this interview :(  Hopefully they will continue to request cases and keep a decent speed going.  They are almost 2 years behind with people waiting in line,  so I imagine it will take quite a while for you to hear from them, lets pray you hear something next year, but no one can really advise when you will receive your interview letter. Just hang in there and dont give up! Your day will come...eventually

I'm DQ May 2020. Case still at NVC. My wife wrote NVC for my case to be expedited. NVC forwarded the request to Accra Embassy and they said my case cannot be expedited and my passport will expire Feb 2022.....Sad

Hi Ironman,

I'm not as familiar with the CR1/IR1 process, but I imagine the Ghana embassy has not requested for those DQ'd in May 2020 applicants yet, but you are probably getting close. If you look in the Ghana portal for those IR1/CR1s with upcoming interviews, they were DQ'd in early March 2020.

I think you will need to get another passport but I don't know the process for updating your application with your new passport #. I'm sure with all the long waits due to COVID others have had to do this and maybe they can chime in. I would suggest posing your expiring passport issue to the IR1/CR1 forum for feedback from others. I'm afraid it might get lost on this post. You could also try calling the NVC and ask.
