Covid Vaccine Exemption

I've had a look at the process to apply for a vaccine exemption.

My understanding is that in order to qualify for a religious exemption, one must provide support for a sincere religious belief. What kind of evidence is best to support that claim? What evidence is necessary for a moral exemption?

We are currently at NVC, but have not filed the paperwork. When do we submit the request for exemption? Before we submit the rest? Along with?

What happens if the exemption is denied? Is the entire case closed? Any possibility of appeal?

I appreciate that this is a charged issue, and I would appreciate it if we can keep personal opinions out of the conversation. I am looking for reliable information about the legal and above board process of requesting a valid exemption for the covid vaccination.

This VJ member successfully got an exemption based on religious/moral grounds.  The couple went through the K1 + AOS process, but their detailed report may give you ideas on the kinds of supporting evidence to submit --

I 601 waiver would be submitted after visa refusal by the CO. Sounds like you need legal guidance as this is of course a personal situation rather than a general one.

It would have to be approved before the visa can be issued.

VJ has a waiver forum.

Please let us know how things turn out......this is sure to be a hot topic in the near future since a bill has been introduced in Congress which would require anyone (without a medical exemption) who flies into or out of any US airport to be vaccinated.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

The bill has not been debated yet, and I'm sure it will be quite a show....

There is an existing process for a waiver of immigration medical requirements, so this is a bit different.

Did you check the form for medical and know for sure COVID vaccine is mandatory? If not, all you need to get into the US is a PCR test within 72 hrs of flight (that’s for everyone over 2, USCs included).

I'm don't think covid vaccines are mandatory, just the PCR test within 3 days. I think they are debating it. Meanwhile, here is a link with a few wording suggestions and attachments for exemptions toward the bottom. It includes a sample exemption letter based on pro-life beliefs if those are the religious ones you're referring to.
