DS 160 accidentally submitted

I think we messed up. We are working with a lawyer and his pre-interview checklist stated that we should fill out the DS-160. He supplied the link, and we filled it out thinking nothing of it. But, after we scheduled our interview and medical exam, the check lists from the Embassy and medical examiner says DS-260. I went back to the link and sure enough the 160 is for non-immigrants. Something I should have noticed, but I was just following instructions. I'm nervous that this submitted form may derail our visa application somehow. I tried calling the NVS, but couldn't get through. How bad did we mess up?

The DS-160 is the correct form for a K1 fiance visa.  The K-1 is a non-immigrant visa.  At the consulate level, fiance visas are processed by the immigrant visa unit.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you for clearing that up. But now I'm wondering why the checklist from the Embassy and medical examiner keep saying 260? Hmmmm

Again, because it’s processed by the immigrant visa unit. So they send the same one automatically  to all immigrant visa applicants even though K1 is technically non-immigrant.
