Hey all,

I couldn’t find many answers online so hoping someone here might know! I’ve been here for 5 years now as a lawful permanent resident and I’m eligible to start my citizenship process (yay!)

curiosity got to me as I am also engaged, been with my fiancé for 4 years, we have a kid etc. If we were to marry before I submit for my citizenship, does that reset my clock for the 3 years to get my citizenship? I understand the general rulings with citizenship and marriage is you have to be married for 3 years and be a resident for 3 years, but since I’ve already been a resident for the 5, would I have to wait another 3 years? Thank you!

No, nothing is "reset." You'll still be eligible to naturalize: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-1

Also you may file up to 90 days early. Use the following calculator to check the earliest possible filing date: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator
