humanitarian reinstatement

Hi everyone. I try to get someone to help me, my grandmother died last year, she was a US citizen, my father is the beneficiary of the petition, it is category F3. We called the NVC and they told us to send the death certificate, we sent it to them immediately. even the NVC rep was very nice. She asked my father if she wanted to continue with the petition and my father said yes, the representative asked us to follow the steps to continue with the humanitarian Reinstatement. after that the NVC sent us the case to the USCIS I could see it in uscis status, it took about 3 months to send the case back to the USCIS. I'll get to the point. We called a lawyer and he asked us for all the requirements to continue with the Reinstatement and immediately the lawyer sent everything to the USCIS. I want to know how long it takes to answer, get some answers

Someone who is able to help will come along. This thread is in the right place. You just need to wait for others to see it.

There is no set timeline.  You just have to wait and see what they decide.

Hopefully it won't take long to get a resolution for your case.  As for recent experience of other VJ members, here's one where it took 4 years to get approval for reinstatement --

For this other case, it took 2 and a half years to get approval --

  • 1 year later...

Hi everyone,

We have been waiting for over two years to receive a response regarding our humanitarian reinstatement request from USCIS. We were informed through a letter to wait for a response, but we have yet to receive anything. We are concerned and do not know what to do.

We would like to know if anyone has gone through a similar situation and how they handled the process. How long does it usually take on average to receive a response from USCIS in these cases? If anyone has gone through a similar situation and can share their experience, we would be very grateful.

We are desperate to receive a response and any additional information would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has any advice or recommendations, we would be so grateful if you could share it with us.

Thank you very much.
