Yep, multiple international studies have been done the lockdowns do not work, Google tries to hide them when they come out you have to use other search engines.

I am glad I live in Texas though.  ;)

Heck, we don't need any international studies, we can just watch Philippines.  Super strict lockdown and in return nothing has improved and only gotten worse.

So in typical Philippines fashion they continue to follow the path that doesn't work.   Great Job by the leadership of the Philippines.

We had to fill out a similar online health form when we went to Peru in May.  We were just happy they were allowing tourists.  We had a great trip.

It really is a backward thinking country

The Philippines has been dealing with Covid for 17 months and their solution is to curl in ball in the fetal position and lay there, this has proven to be useless and they continue it despite Covid only getting worse.

Meanwhile back in the USA states like Texas we all kept on working, we don't have to wear masks and everything is open, we deal with covid by living and working.

Your’e glossing over the fact that the USA and Texas is seeing a huge surge as well.

Neither response has worked because people are not getting vaccinated.

I can only speak for Texas.  We are living life as normal here, Mask mandate is illegal in general per Texas Governor.

Everything is open, we keep on working living in Texas, I got my 2nd Moderna back in early April.  I went to Cancun Mexico in early June, headed back there next week to Cancun area and back again in mid October for vacation.

Gonna see the Rolling Stones at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas in November.  We here in Texas don't curl up a ball like they do in the Philippines and have lockdowns, curfews, quarantines, liquor bans, travel bans, etc.  We just keep living life here, and with the economy booming the last 6 years there is way too much work here and lots of money to be made and I have been stuffing my bank accounts.  Life is good in Texas

Thank you for illustrating my point.  You got vaccinated, which is why you can do these things and say “life is good”.  The Delta surge is affecting the unvaccinated who are doing those things.

Lockdowns were necessary before the availability of vaccinations to keep hospitals from getting overwhelmed.  The vaccination rate in the USA is 53%. The vaccination rate in the Philippines is 17%.  If the Philippines relaxed restrictions like the USA during Delta we’d see another India.

We never locked down in Texas, we didn't start getting vaccine in Texas until January of this year.  We just kept working and making the world wide economy turn.

I believe Texas has the 9th largest economy in the world and Philippines has like what the 27th?   We are free here and don't let politicians take away our freedoms nor our rights.

You can still do all those things if you don't get vaccinated in Texas, that the beauty of living here, it your choice to get vaccinated or not, but life keeps on living here in Texas.

It’s the population density, not the economy, that drives a contagion.  The virus doesn’t care how much money you make.  So there is that.  Is there a Manila in Texas?

Lockdown or not, many people last year had sense and concern towards others and practiced safety and were not so razor focused at flaunting individual freedoms like many others are.  However, this year we have Delta.  Delta is much more contagious and deadly - hence the surge.  And, note, this is despite vaccinations now being present.

Now let’s look at what happened in India.  This is a country with many areas at the same population density as Manila.  They relaxed restrictions at the end of last year and into this year, so by the time of Delta , it looked much like what you have going on in Texas….  BUT without the vaccination rate.  Then they were hit with Delta.  And we know what happened.  Thankfully vaccinations have saved the USA from suffering the same fate.  But in the population-dense Philippines?  At 17%?

Bottom line, if Manila lifted everything with so few vaccinated, it will be a feast for Delta, as we have seen in India.

Get vaccinated folks.  The sooner everyone does, the quicker we can end these kind of conversations and truly move on.

No comparison of Texas to Pilippines .  Not in the equation.  Superpower vs 3rd world

Texas moved on April of last year.......... We decided to move on and live and work.  It was our given right by our creator to work and provide for ourselves and our families, not for someone else to decide.

You’re conflating topics.  One can still have economic freedom while practicing safety towards others.
