AOS processing timeline, 2004?

i haven't sent in my AOS yet, i will be doing that in the next 2 weeks or so. i have been reading into this more and more and i have two questions.

first off, is it uncommon for K1 Visa people to apply for AP while they are waiting for their adjustment of status? and how long does it usually take to be approved?

secondly, i looked up the processing timelines for the AOS. the government website (https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/officeProcesstimes.jsp?selectedOffice=18) says that in Chicago they are currently processing cases recieved in November 2004. IS THIS FOR REAL? is the wait that long? does it really take a year and a half to get your green card?

oh and, does everyone file in Chicago for this? i am not sure.

Yup, the wait is that long. Get your AP.

DOn't check Chicago unless you live there though - check your district office.

aah ok. i wasn't sure where that was filed, to be honest. i thought everyone filed in chicago.

so one's district office is determined by which is closest to you? that is reassuring. looking at Pittsburgh, they are processing August 2005. i like the sound of that.
