Hello! I am new to this board :) I am currently with someone who is dealing with immigration. He is due back in Court on August 17th to ask the judge for Voluntery Departure. He has been living in the US for 14 years. Never been in any trouble. He has a couple brothers that live her and are Perm. Residents.. Can anyone give me any advice on what you think I should do. If I decied to marry him.. where would I go to get married? Here in Chicago or back in Mexico that is where he is from.. Exactally what is the I-129f form? Would that help me at all? So confused!!! :(

05/26/06 - Green Card arrived in mail yaaaahhooooo

Let me understand correctly, your fiancee has been in the US out of status for 14 years? Did he enter legally?

Your likely going to have a quite a bit of trouble in trying to bring him here legally. I would suggest reading the K-1 guides, but also look at the wavier forum. For anyone that has overstayed in the US for more than 1 year, they will end up with a 10 year ban from the country. The ban can be overcome, but its not easy to do and there is no guarantee of success.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.
