No problem man. It was a roller coaster ride for us, and we had to stumble through it mostly on our own. There's surprisingly little info out there about stepchildren. If there's anything else you need, reach out to me anytime. Really wish you the best of luck, I know the feeling of wanting this process to be over ASAP so we can all be reunited.

Quick question. Have a step sister that mu father filed for a couple of years ago and have now gone through the NVC process and are waiting for an interview appointment at the embassy. Most likely around Nov or Dec 2021. Her mother was married to my dad but she passed away almost 15 years ago. When my father filed for her the mum had already passed away.

Any specific documents we need to have in hand to prove the step father/step daughter relationship? She does have the death certificate.

Not 100% sure since this is kind of a unique situation - if my math is correct your father filed for her 12-13 years after her mother passed away?

But typically a marriage certificate + step-daughter birth certificate should be enough to link the step-father/step-daughter. I would bring anything else that could possibly be useful.
