US Embassy Moscow

My wife's son has been waiting for a family based immigrant interview at the US Embassy in Moscow for some time now and along with the pandemic the political situation has brought any hopes of getting that interview to an abrupt halt. NVC has not provided any help as to when, where, or how he (along with others) might proceed to the next step. We've made several attempts to do a third party national case transfer but that didn't work out as we hoped. We've contacted our local government representatives and that also was a dead end. He has been waiting since 2013 and is documentarily qualified but at this point does not have any answers at to what he might do to move things along. Any help would be appreciated.

With the US Embassy in Moscow consular section still almost completely shut down it is very hard to see any progress there.

You say "We've made several attempts to do a third party national case transfer but that didn't work out as we hoped". I assume you mean you tried to get his case transferred to a US Embassy in another country? Can you tell us which embassies you tried? Did they explicitly turn you down or did you just get no response?

We've tried Cyprus, their reply "At this time, we are prioritizing appointments for citizens and residents of the Republic of Cyprus. All appointments for non-citizens and non-residents of the Republic of Cyprus have been canceled through at least August 31, 2021." We've tried Warsaw but it was unclear as to if they would accept a case transfer. Ukraine had the same story.

My step son has a PD of 2019 and a DQ of of 2020.  We also have been trying to get answer like would it be better to stay or leave. Our house representative (his aid) has been trying to help but most of the embassies she has contacted ignored her. Other gave us a least a answer on when to ask again. Few made us email them only for them to say not then tell us to go to Warsaw. I don't understand why Warsaw is the best option. I know Russians need a visa there but am told it is hard to get? Then you also have to stay there for while wait for everything?

Anyway I contacted Warsaw before all this they ignored us then then next time I did told us to pound sand.

I honestly thought a family visa for a child would be high on priority. I mean for crying out load we are trying to get home her so he can attend school hear and be with his family. Not have him come here after he is done with school and should be out of the house.

Now I am not trying to be a ####### or anything here. Why do I see people who have PD like 6-8 years ago and are getting DQ last year or this year.  Why so long?

In the case of my wife 10 month PD to DQ, less then 4 week for interview, 3 weeks for waiting for visa and here. My step son 10 months from PD to DQ.

I may be wrong, but I think people with PD of 6-8 years filed their petition when they were themselves green card holders.

I'm assuming that when you say "PD" you're referring to "pending date". My wife's son's is 2013, so it has been quite sometime waiting just to get an interview. He's had his DQ for sometime as well so he's been ready for the next step. I've been in touch with 2 senators and the NVC who basically told us to find another country to get his interview. All without any direction, leaving us with no other course than calling the list of embassies to hear what their story is which is usually without anything positive.
