Hello everyone,

My granda is having a problem remembering her unemployment date since it was already a decade ago.But in form I-864, there is a field for her unemployment date. I'm not sure what to put on it. Does anyone know how to work this out?

Also, what are the requirements for the joint sponsor? I am confused on what documents to ask from our sponsors. Our family's sponsor is married and filling their tax jointly. Currently they only provided us their 2020 1040 document.

Thank you so much and God bless!

An approximate date or "Unknown" is acceptable.

All sponsors must provide current income evidence, tax information, and domicile evidence.

Hi Crazy Cat,

Thanks for your insight. She is not our sponsor who will shoulder the amount on the poverty guidelines anyway. Have a great day!

has she kept copies of tax returns from time she started working

i refer to them a lot

Hi JeanneAdil,

I believe that she hasn't been filing her tax ever since, since her income is not enough for her to file any taxes. We have a joint sponsor who will shoulder the amount stated in the poverty guidelines.
