Bringing Mother from Mexico (Greencard), Your Experience?

I would like to do the 130 for my mother in law who lives in and is a citizen of Mexico to get her a green card. We would be filing non-concurrently with her in Mexico.

 

Does anyone have any helpful information to share about the experience? Was it difficult for the parent to travel into the US as a tourist while it was all pending? They would both fly and drive when the border was open and will hopefully be doing it again once covid gets under control. 

 

Also, I'm aware the 130 has to be filed in my wife's name. Not really looking on any info about the paperwork. Just need more info about the experience of the person waiting.

The biggest issue which can come as a surprise is the Heath Insurance cost.

 

Should not make any difference to normal visits.

You mean health insurance once they get to the US as a green card holder?
