Hi guys. Just need a little advice. I came to the US couple of years ago via the dv lottery. However, the guys that played the lottery add 8 more years to my age. I was 18 at the time. It was too late when I find out so I applied for my visa with that age. I have not had any issues so far but I feel this might be complicated when I decide to file for social security. I don't want to get overpaid social security if I am filing at 62 then my age with SSn with be 70. Any advice will be appreciated

“The guys that played the lottery”?   Huh?

What does that even mean?

You are 100% responsible for the content of your application.   You need to correct it immediately if you came over using a falsified birth certificate.

He is responsible for his own action and application, it smells like a little bit of fraud to me so he could get what he wanted

You added 8 years to your age because you wanted a visa? So does that mean a fake birth certificate was provided to the CO at the interview? You need to have this corrected ASAP otherwise you'll be digging yourself into a much bigger hole.

There’s no “correction” for fraudulent documents, other than losing your green card. I fail to see how else this would have gotten past the consulate.

Quite possibly.

I will deem lost of green card due to fraud as a "correction" of the matter.

What I suspect here is that the guys that played the lottery sold him someone else's win.

I see people paying cyber agents to play on their behalf. This is so rampant in Kenya were people believe these agents. In OP's case, it must be that the true winner could not cough up what the agent wanted. So the agent sold it to OP, who was highest bidder. I bet the BC is fake as a result.

Sorry OP...but you shot yourself here. You can't petition your folks.

https://www.justice.gov/file/1121741/download "In holding that the respondents made willful misrepresentations, the Immigration Judge found that they knew of or authorized the false statements their representative made on their behalf in their applications for permanent resident status. The respondents claim that because the documents were in English, they could not read them and were unaware of their contents. Citing Ortiz-Bouchet v. U.S. Attorney General, 714 F.3d 1353 (11th Cir. 2013) (per curiam), the respondents argue that the Immigration Judge erred because the evidence in the record is not sufficient to support the conclusion that they made a willful misrepresentation. We disagree. Courts have held “in various contexts, including immigration cases, [that] one’s signature on a form or contract establishes a strong presumption” that the signer knows its contents and has assented to them, absent evidence of fraud or other wrongful acts by another person. Thompson v. Lynch, 788 F.3d 638, 647 (6th Cir. 2015); see also, e.g., United States v. Baptist, 759 F.3d 690, 696 (7th Cir. 2014) (holding that an alien’s failure to read a waiver form containing clear warnings of its consequences was insufficient to prove that the waiver was invalid, absent evidence that he was tricked or pressured into signing it); cf. Bingham v. Holder, 637 F.3d 1040, 1045 (9th Cir. 2011) (stating that in the absence of fraud or other wrongful act on the part of another, a person who signs a contract is presumed to know its contents and to assent to them). The regulations also support this legal principle."
