Thank you SusieQQQ

It's a choice not a must...

However, despite the fact that I; the petitioner has filed for citizenship.....  in addition, taking into consideration  average timeline for N400 to citizenship (8 months) my personal naturalization timeline is currently estimated to be 14months.

So, you have a valid point and it makes sense to file as a LPR.

However,  heavens know why USCIS/NVC is making wait times for Nigerians longer, please bear in mind that the person asking the question is a Nigerian with LPR, so am I.

Note that OP just recently immigrated so OP is still years away from being eligible to file Form N-400. Thus why after marriage Form I-130 should be filed ASAP to start F2A process.

Dear Omowunmi,

According to USCIS,

There are no fiancé visas available for foreign nationals wishing to marry U.S. permanent residents. Fiancé visas are available only to people coming to the U.S. to marry U.S. citizens.

That been said,  my best advice is to plan visiting regularly until you become a citizen, after then you can file for your spouse.  I say this because I am a green card holder too.... my spouse and I  are currently 2years 3 months since we started the petition, we are close to finalize... however we are still looking at 4 months at most before my spouse can be called for interview.   Think twice before you file.  The 2 years is just an estimate, it is not definite.

She won't even be eligible to become a US citizen for five years.
