Has anybody booked an interview whilst ‘in transit’?

I booked my interview whilst ‘in transit’ 2 weeks ago, after using the DHL ‘hack’ to track when the cases would arrive at embassy.

I’ve since received my letter from the embassy, but that was a week after booking.

now I’m aware of wording that I didn’t notice out of excitement of booking;

 ‘If you have not received instructions, DO NOT continue with appointment registration or scheduling. If you register/schedule an appointment without receiving instructions from the IV Unit, your appointment will be cancelled on the day of your interview and you will be turned away at the consular section’.

has anyone else done it this way? I had received the email from NVC saying that the case was being moved, which had a link that eventually got me to the booking screen.

 A London specific answer:

Question— Did you book on the immigrant screen…the green one https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv and clicked “I have received a letter from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K visa appointment”. (The wrong screen is blue.)

If so, then you are fine. Lots have booked before the letter or never even got the letter. Not needed. Your London embassy instructions are here if you haven’t seen them. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

You do need to get your ducks in a row if you haven’t already. Submit DS-160.  Police Certificate and vaccinations before medical appointment. Call for medical appointments when you have what you need in hand. And all the documents needed for interview.

I definitely did it on the green one - I can't remember if I selected the 1st or 2nd option... But I have my letter now (Didn't at the time of booking)

I'm all prepared and have every letter/form/copy/document I would need together for the interview... but part of me is concerned they'll turn me away now for doing it backwards.

You definitely need to choose the SECOND one.Then you would pay the visa fee and make courier arrangements. The first one is for spouse visas and would take you down a different path which is not to the calendar to pick a date. I know a gazillion K1s (in London) who didn’t follow the order to wait for a letter..Also the London embassy website says don’t book the interview until after you have attended the medical. That is not necessary either. But is important to have your documents ready.  And important to have your shots, Summary Care Record printout from your GP, and a short written report from your GP to explain any surgeries, medical conditions, or depression if you have any of those no matter how long ago, especially if mentioned on the Summary Care Record.

I definitely selected k1, but there was an option for not receiving the letter I think.

I have my medical this Friday. All documents for that are ready too.

Sounds like you’re ready. Those are the options on the immigrant (green) page. Screen shot.

I think so. Just concerned that because I did things out of sequence, I’ll get turned away. But thanks for reassuring me!
