I am hoping to apply for DCF in Israel based on a job offer with short notice, and I want to make sure I include all the relevant details so they don't reject my case.

I emailed the embassy asking what documents they need to start the process, and all they said is "send a letter from your employer with the start date, and we will evaluate if it meets our criteria"  They're very slow to answer and stingy with the information.

Can someone please share a copy of the letter from their employer, or a template letter? And any other information they choses to include in this initial step of requesting to do direct consular filing.

I clearly meet all the requirements for the "exceptional circumstances" and will have a real job offer. I just need to know how to present it so that my case will not get denied. I'm planning on doing this without a lawyer. Let me know your thoughts on that.

Some additional info:

- I'm a US citizen

- Been living abroad for 6 years

- Currently employed in Israel

- My israeli partner and I have been together for 7 years, we're getting married in a month. (we have plenty of proof of relationship... shared bank accounts and assets)

- We want to relocate to the USA in the next 6 months.

- I am getting a job in the USA

A standard solid job offer letter on their letterhead should suffice.  Has your potential employer ever written one before?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thanks for your answer.

What do you mean by a solid job offer? Just like with a good salary or at a reputable company?

I have no idea if my potential employer has written one before... they're a pretty big company so it's possible. I will only ask them after I receive an offer...

I mean a REAL offer....one which officially offers the job, and gives a start date, salary, etc, on official letterhead.  If they are a big company, I am sure they have a standard format.  Good luck.

Hi,

The classic example of exceptional circumstance is someone already married, living in the spouse's country and working for an international company that is transferring the person back to the US (and will loose their job if they don't), or a military re-deployment to the States or another country.

If you currently work for a foreign company and choose to quit and get a job the the US, just to try to skip the normal consular process, that may not qualify.  But it doesn't hurt to try.
