Hi folks!

My interview is finally scheduled BUT they got the wrong USCIS Office!!!

We recently moved in South Carolina and updated my address last July 2021 but they still scheduled my interview back in Minnesota.

Is there a way to change my Interview location? Flight are super expensive. Hu Hu Hu!

I tried calling the USCIS number several times but no luck.

What should we do? HELP!

If you did AR-11 and the USC petitioner did I-865 that should have alerted USCIS to change location of the interview.

Yes we did changed our address in USCIS website.

That’s AR-11 only. USC petitioner needs to do hard copy I-865 signed and mailed in.

I've seen this before.  Unfortunately, moving during the adjustment of status process usually results in an interview in the location where you began the process.  If you don't attend the interview, your application will be denied.  If a high air fare is the price you pay, then you pay it.  They don't care.  Try anything you want to get it changed, but simply changing your address is not enough.  If you get it changed, great.  If not, you get there or be denied.

Unfortunately, your best bet is to attend the interview in Minnesota.

To offset the travel costs, consider using credit cards with good cash back or airline miles programs.

Good luck!

  • 4 weeks later...

I simply called and told them about it. In just 2 days, I was able to receive my final date of my interview. We also got Approved on the spot!
