Sorry guys, I meant I may have to go K2 visa route if I dont get any answers after waiting 2 years.

K2 is for a child of a K1.

If you mean a spousal visa, well that would be a CR-1.

Its been 18 months since my K1 pettion was received. It is clearly outside if normal processing times for Vermont Center. I have asked fir update, and only answer is pending security check. I read this can take several months or even years? Has anyone ever heard of this?

My fiancee has filed our k1 application August 2019 and after 3 months we received NOA1  notifying us that our application has been forwarded to Vermont in November 21, 2019 and we haven't hear from them since. It's almost 28 months past. They said they're doing security check. My fiancee had a felony charges 20 some yrs ago. I thought our case is different from the others. It's a relief that we are not the only one going through this. I do hope we hear from them soon. We've waited long enough. A lot of things had happened to my fiancee in the US and I wasn't able to help him because we're apart. 🙏 Let's keep the faith.

Sheng, yes its very hard waiting this long, and with travel ban even harder.  If I do not hear from Immigration by Janurary, I may just marry fiance in Phillipines when travel ban is lifted and start CR1 marriage visa. They can not deny that because of something that happened 20 to 30 years ago!

And then it least being married I would have better travelling privileges. Finances have none at all to the Philippines.

Yeah. We've thought abt it before. U can watch on youtube if marrying her in the Philippines will be a good idea while  u have a pending K1 on the process. Ive seen one discussion on youtube that spousal visa take longer than K1 visa. But there are some advantages and disadvantage. Try to watch some youtube discussion abt spousal and k1 visa. You'll learn a lot.  Every applications will have to start again. Since you've been waiting for 20months already then just go with the flow. Hehe JK. there is really nothing we can do right not. We do not have control over   it. We have no other choice than to wait.  GOODLUCK TO US!
