Hello guys. I filed my AOS package with my EAD
got an rfe, i replied the rfe 23 days ago.

so now my wife is pregnant, and doesn’t feel good, i’m not comfortable to let her drive. And I don’t have license yet.

i need my work permit first to get a SSN to do the license…

Can I request an expedite bc of that. Cause i’ll have to drive my wife to Hospital….

you should be able to apply the drivers license using the AOS receipt, SSN or EAD is not required. assuming you are in Texas, as your profile says the local service center is Houston, Texas
https://www.dps.texas.gov/sites/default/files/documents/driverlicense/documents/verifyinglawfulpresence.pdf

quoting from the above pdf, all you need is

Immigration documentation with an alien number or I-94 number.
This can include but is not limited to a form I-797 indicating pending I-485 or pending application for adjustment of status.

I would say try it. It's free so call the hotline, tell them you want to expedite the EAD cause you need to get a driver's license to take care of your wife and you can't get one without the EAD

I see, you can definitely request an expedite by calling the USCIS helpline. whether its granted or not is discretionary to USCIS and varies case by case
