Yes, I agree that the OP case is within the current timeframes. But many people are stuck in the process for years and those people are very often from middle eastern countries so filing a law suit is often the only way to force uscis to make a decision. Sitting silently and waiting patiently does not always work as the process is not exactly linear.

Those people are almost always in extended administrative processing due to background check difficulties in those countries.  Forcing a decision does not always force a favorable one.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

@Lucky Cat I  really respect your contribution to this community but in this case you sound a bit misinformed. I think most people can agree that the immigration journey is not linear and fair. Perhaps force was the wrong word to use. Filing a law suit aka a mandamus simply ASKS the government to do their job and it doesnt affect the decision... It ASKS them to finally make one. And I disagree that all attorneys are bloodsuckers. There are many honest attorneys out there who are in it to help people and get the best outcome for their clients and sometimes filing a lawsuit is the only way.

You can join NVC Process Help group on Facebook for timelines. I have not received interview appointment and likely won't until Nov/Dec this year.

Hi All,

My wife sponsored me for an IR-1 visa back in 2019. My case became Documentarily Qualified on October 28th 2020 and is pending Interview at the US Consulate in Islamabad, Pakistan. I understand there is a backlog of cases everywhere, is there a way to find out which month of DQ'd cases the Islamabad Consulate is processing right now? Alternatively, members here at Visa Journey who have recently had immigration interviews at the US Consulate in Islamabad, when were your respective cases Documentarily Qualified? I am trying to get an idea of when I could realistically have my interview scheduled.

Regards,

My wifes DQ is 12-4-20, we are still waiting also, have your heard anything yet its been almost 2 months since you last posted

I haven't had an update since, I am still waiting. You can join this Facebook Group NVC Process Help: https://www.facebook.com/groups/NationalVisaCenter/

It has a lot of Pakistanis and they track every month when Interview Letters are sent out to see the progress. For October 2021, cases DQ'd in September 2020 will be scheduled I believe.

My husband's documents were dq on Oct 7th. Has anyone gotten an interview letter from Oct 1st to Oct 10th?

My DQ is Oct 28th so I don't know. The embassy sends out Interview Letters 20th - 24th of every month for the next month. You can join the group mentioned above to see but as of 20th August 2021, DQ cases until 9th September 2020 were scheduled for the month of September 2021. Interview Letters for October 2021 have not been sent out yet so we will see which dates they cover. Most likely they will only cover remaining 3 weeks of DQ'd cases from September 2020. Based on that timeline, your case could be scheduled for Interview in November or December but this is all just speculation.

Here's hoping to the US embassy keeping up that momentum. Hoping for our letter soon. Good luck 👍
