Hello! My English husband is contemplating accepting an offer with an L1 Visa. We are trying to understand realistic processing/interview times & timelines as we need to consider our children’s education and general housekeeping (and house selling) in the UK. His company has mentioned an expedited application, but again, with Covid and backlogs, what can we expect if we move forward? Has anyone started or even completed this process in 2021? Has anyone residing in the UK ever had their interview in another country? Is that even possible? Thanks!

I don't know the London consulate timelines, but the experience a friend had with an L1 visa was that it was super fast. It took 2 weeks. The paperwork is approved by USCIS and forwarded to the consulate, so you should be able to get an appointment for it very soon after. The company will get lawyers to do the L1 paperwork (my friend with an L1 had to take a huge stack of papers to his interview) so they will know if appointments are delayed. But again, I doubt they are because what's on hold is like visitor visas, K1, etc., not work visas. Even students are getting student visas now.

Hopefully someone from UK has some answers.
