Hi,

Our interview for K1 AOS is soon and we just wanna make sure we have everything ready. So far we have:

1) Passport
2) Birth certificate
3) Marriage certificate
4) Joint health insurance
5) Joint bank account
6) Proof that we live together

No medical as it was done abroad within a year of filing for AOS

Is there anything else that we need to bring?

Also, I did not receive my EAD or AP. My case was scheduled for an interview instead 10 months after filing. I'm not sure if that means anything

Congrats on the approval!

I never got an EAD or AP so I wasn't able to work or contribute much financially, nor did we get to travel. The list that I gave is all we have so far.

Also, what should we expect at the interview? We've been together since 2016 and everything is documented through the embassy. And we've been living together for a year and some change now since I got here. What more "proof" of bonafide relationship do they need?

Our interviewer was extremely laid back and it felt much more like a conversation than an interview.  She asked us for some of the documents upfront, specifically both of our passports and driving licenses.  After that she asked for all of the information we had brought which proved our relationship was legit (photos, bank statements, car titles, house deeds) she skimmed through the photos then put all of that in our file.  She also asked to see my EAD cards  She did not ask to see our birth certificates, my social security, my decree absolute or any of the details relating to my employment.  I think because they were either irrelevant OR already in the file.  That doesn't mean you won't be asked though, this was just our experience.  She asked us about how we met and also some follow up questions relating to that, she asked about the wedding, she asked each of us to tell her our birthdays (i.e. what is your partners birthday), she did the same with our place of birth.  Oh she also asked for the medical forms from when I submitted my K1.

In summary, providing you have a legitimate relationship and the correct documentation, you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

We had our interview and approved today (well technically status changed to new card is being produced about six hours later, we weren't given an approval at the interview).

We brought all the things on the checklist with the appointment letter but the interviewer only asked for our evidence of a bonafide marriage. The only evidence we had on hand was several joint bank statements, joint leases, and joint tax returns, and about 15 pictures. He took all of the evidence. The only other thing he asked for was a marriage cert showing her name change but my spouse used her maiden name on the cert however he said her new last name will be on the green card anyways. Naturally over prepare and bring everything asked for but I'd emphasize the joint documents and pictures. My wife did her medical abroad for the K1 over two years ago and they didn't ask for any new medical forms.

Edit: I forgot to mention we both had to provide state IDs and passports. My wife had her EAD ID too.
