I get it.  When I was at your place in the process I watched the YouTube vids and read blogs.  You want to put together a beautiful binder that shows the IOs how much you care about this whole process:)  But they don't want to deal with that.  I ultimately found the USCIS guidance and followed it, thinking about how they will disassemble and reassemble in their formats for their file cabinets.  I used an 11x17 manila folder for everything, binder clips and paper clips, and I put sticky tabs along the bottom of each section and printed clearly to easily identify it.  And I used the 11x17 folder instead of an 8.5x11 (all papers were 8.5x11) to protect the sticky tabs that were hanging off the bottom of the document pile while in the shipping envelope.  Ultimately it was a good looking, clean, organized package that followed their instructions.  I doubt you would get rejected for putting together a binder with plastic sleeves, but I'm sure there are plenty of office working folks shaking their heads and fists at the hassle of all of us not following their instructions.  Good luck and hang in there, it's a long process!

I put this clipped inside an 11x17 to protect the tabs at the bottom.  We've already been approved, fiance now husband, I have no idea if the IO cared about our application assembly or if anyone here will be able to point out anything I should have done differently.  But here is my example.  We included a separate chat log and I now know, from spending so much time on Visajourney, that I submitted WAY TOO MANY CHATS - lol.  I mention that because I saw your other question in a different thread. For the interview I sent my fiance in with 5 pages of chat excerpts of important conversations throughout our relationship (marriages, illness, deaths, what our future would look like, birthdays, holidays).

Instead of relying on very unreliable and unofficial sources, you should read instructions on the official USCIS website. This also goes for your previous post about what documents are needed. Everything is in the official instructions. YouTube is the worst place to look for immigration advice.

Neck and neck with Facebook.

Finally done...

IO didnt care because the IO never saw it.   The lockbox took it completely apart and reassembled in standard USCIS format.  They threw away all the excess pretty office supplies.

YMMV

why not just file online?

so much easier

You may file Form I-129 electronically. Go to our Internet website at www.uscis.gov and follow the detailed instructions on e-filing. Read these instructions carefully to properly complete this form. If you need more space to complete an answer, use a separate sheet of paper.

reason USCIS gives specific instructions for how to submit is they need to scan them to their computers

staples and binders just add a lot of work

There’s a difference between I-129F and I-129. Electronic filing is unavailable for fiancé petitions.

Been lurking on here a while -- trying to figure out the same question after watching a ton of Youtube videos on this. I learned here that when the USCIS says you do something one way, you dance to THEIR tune. My fiancee wasn't sure because like a lot of people she trusts sources that aren't official because "I googled it and it said...." Well, USCIS doesn't want the pretty colored inserts so I didn't give them any! We have our NOA1 so I guess I did something right.
