When will NVC send to Brazil embassy? Time it takes once interview completed to come to US

I am trying to get my fiancé from Brazil here before the end of year. NVC received and provided petition approval notice on 5/22/2021. Has not been sent to Embassy yet after 2.5 months. Do I have a realistic chance to have her here by end of year? How long does it take when when we get notice that it has been sent to embassy for her to complete her interview? Any tips to expedite process?

thanks for any insight or updates!

Based on someone else going through K1 in Rio, NVC is sending petitions that were approved in December 2020. Based on that, it’s unlikely the interview will happen until the end of this year.

Unfortunately, you are probably looking at another 12 months or so.

I do not believe this will be the case, or i hope this is not the case. The NVC recently sent cases with NOA2 from August to December to the consulate. Hopefully next month they will send several more months worth.

I hope I'm wrong and you're right. I'm very pessimistic at this point. The Biden administration is now punishing anyone that tries to sue them over cases stuck at NVC. They are just letting the cases expire and you have to start all over. This is a new tactic to lower the backlog and it seems pretty desperate. Seems they have no solutions to address the issue.

Good luck to everyone.

It does seem that based on other timelines I am seeing here, and when people are getting interviews scheduled, that those of us with NOA2 dates from January 2021 - March/April 2021 may be in the next group sent to the consulate.  Our NOA2 date is March 2, 2021, we are at the NVC now for probably about 5 months, but I think our time is nearing.

Hello Hello,

Our NOA2 was March 3, 2021....the email came today....the NVC is forwarding us to the consulate in Brasil......yippppeeeee,

This will take a few weeks, but then we will be free to schedule our interview with the consulate.  I'm so excited, finally.

Congratulations! Surprisingly, I also got the e-mail today and my NOA2 was June 8.

Guys, what exactly is NOA1, NOA2... I know that it stands for "notice of action" but what is this after all? Would that be those emails the NVC sends out every couple of months?

NOA1 is when the government formally acknowledges that they have received your petition.

NOA2 is when they let you know that they have approved it

With some luck those will be the only two pieces of communication that you will receive before your petition goes to the National Visa Center.

Thanks for replying. I see it. In this case I am already ahead of this step. Just waiting for interview... DQ Dec 2020.

We're in the same boat. My petition is on its way to Brazil as I write this and, in an unrelated coincidence, I'm flying to Porto Alegre tomorrow.
