I sent an email inquiry about our case about 2 weeks ago. Just got this reply today... What do you make of this?

Mr. S needs to complete the biometrics requirements. An appointment notice will be mailed when the ASC in his area has appointments available. Once the biometrics data captured, his I-485 will be processed. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Subject: Case # MSCXXXXXXX

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to inquire about the status of our I485 (case # MSCXXXXXXX). We received our NOA1 on Feb 8, 2007. It has been almost 5 months since we filed and 3 months since our case was transferred to CSC.

Here's our timeline so far:

NOA1 Feb. 8, 2007

Biometrics Mar 8, 2007

EAD approved April 17, 2007

AP approved April 19, 2007

Is there any time frame we can be looking at for approval of the I485? Can we look for approval soon?

Thank you for your time.

Mr. & Mrs. S

Wow, others don't get replies from CSC.. :thumbs:

But it says in your siggy Mr. S has had his biometrics 03/08/2007, and the CSC requires him of another biometrics??

That is something you have to verify with them, again.

Since the EAD was approved, the prior biometrics was for the EAD. It sounds like me that they are waiting for the notice for your AOS biometrics to be mailed to you and once that appointment is completed, they will continue processing the AOS. I wouldn't be surprised if you get that biometrics appointment within the next few days or so.

You mean they have separate biometrics done for AOS & EAD? Seems redundant to me... why wouldn't they use the same one? I had not heard of this before... I mean, people getting 2 separate biometrics appts. We filed everything at the same time. Thanks for your input... I still think it's weird. :wacko:

Yup, there are two seperate appointments. A lot of the time, people seem to have both appointment letters in hand before the first bio appointment and bring both letters (even if the dates are different) and are usually able to have both done at the same appointment. Unfortunately for you, both bio appointment letters weren't "in hand" at your EAD bio appointment. So yes, the response from USCIS makes perfect sense. Hopefully you don't have to wait much longer for that appointment notice so that the processing of your case may continue. :)

Is the two biometrics a new thing? My husband only had one biometrics appointment. AOS approved in May of this year. Is it different for K3's? Reason I ask is my husband came on a K1.

Not always two separate appointments... I had one appointment letter for both, it had the case numbers for my AOS & EAD on the same letter. :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

My husband came on K1 also...

You can check the biometrics appointment letter to see if it was for EAD, AOS, or both. Code 3 means that the EAD and AOS biometrics were taken at the same time.

going to dig up the biometrics letter now... :blink:

there is another way to tell besides looking at the bio letter. Did they take 10 fingers, only 1, or both?

10 = AOS

1 = EAD

both = welll... both!

they took all ten fingers (each hand separately), then each individual finger separately. He's in the shower now, so I'm waiting for him to finish to get the letter.

Ok, just for clarification, the Biometrics Appt letter does indeed state both case numbers and in the "code" box it says 3 (like jenn3539 says). Should we make an infopass appt?
