Hello again. Apologies if this is in the wrong section of the forum.

I'm probably panicking but non-refundable tickets have been bought from Scotland via Amsterdam to Detroit Metropolitan and now I'm thinking I've only ever heard of K1 visas being processed at really major international airports such as LAX and JFK?

Will it be okay to go through immigration and interview here? Google doesn't seem to be helping regarding specific visas, I can't call and there is no email address that looks like it might deal with this question.

It's beginning to sound like a nightmare what with all the covid-safety preparations for three countries on top of it all... Also will my fiancé be able to stay with me as we will be traveling together?

Thanks for reading. Any advice much appreciated.

I went through Denver, I am not alone.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

People come in through smaller international airports all the time on K1s. You can check the reviews for Detroit here: https://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php?trim=no&poe=Detroit&page=1&dfilter=0

Not everyone there has entered with a K1 and most are pre-COVID but to me it looks like the first person on that list came in through Detroit on a K1 in May because they're currently doing an AOS. You're going to be just fine. :) When you come through immigration, whether you can go through with your fiance or not kind of depends on the airport but my understanding is that most will allow this. Just ask!

Safe travels and congrats on getting your visa!

Last time I went through DTW I would hardly call it "small".   I would say it certainly qualifies as a "really major international airport".  Huge Delta hub  (the airline not the rona delta)

Keep up the y'alls! I have a friend from Louisiana whose stepfather is from Glasgow but has lived in the bayou for the past 25 years. She tells me his accent is completely impenetrable to anyone except immediate family now! :D

My fiance moved from Louisiana back to his home state of Michigan during the last year and we'd always joked that I'd end up saying things like, "aye, y'all" and completely confusing people!

Perfect, thanks Boiler. I hope you're settling / settled and it wasn't too intimidating a process for you 🙂

Denver is a big airport but mainly domestic, secondary is something you go through but likely just a minor delay and quite interesting

Denver is probably the most "interesting" / mysterious airport in the U.S from what I've read. Was it that or the process itself?

This one in Michigan has a cool light show tunnel but I won't get to see it this time.
