We received an email today saying that "Immigration appointment cancelled".

We haven't had an appointment scheduled yet. I wonder if it has something to do with the war.

I would think it is related to the war. But it seems so odd you got this email if your appointment hasn't been scheduled in the first place.

We didn't receive any communications (and I believe our case is similar to yours: I'm sponsoring my mom, and our case was transferred to Warsaw from Moscow on Nov. 9th).

Yes, our cases are similar & good to know you haven't received such an email. I'm going to contact them in the next few days if I don't hear anything from them.

Yes we received the invitation finally. It took 76 day from the date of NVC approval letter to the day the Warsaw embassy emailed us the invitation for the interview. Calling the call center does not do much for speeding up the process. You just have to keep waiting. The best thing is for you to register on ustraveldocs.com website and keep sending messages through it every few days. Only send 1 message at a time and then wait for response to that message (responses have been taking between 1-10 business days depending on question type). If you send more than one message at once before you receive the response to the first message, the subsequent messages just get deleted by the system and the call center does not even have a record of them when you call. Just keep waiting.

This the invitation letter comes in mail or email? Send a letter from Poland to Russia may take a long time

I just found this website. Thank you everyone for sharing, so helpful.

Now, I am in the same boat with all of you. My mother's case got transferred on December, 11th 2021 from Moscow to Warsaw (got the new case number with WRW), we are waiting for the interview now.  I hope all of us reunite with our loved ones soon.

Excellent news everyone! My boyfriend's i-129f was approved!

The interview likely can't be in Poland but I'll be following the process the people in this thread used with calling and moving the interview. We’ll likely be able to interview in Armenia. :)

Not yet, but my fiance has a working visa in Armenia, and I sent them an email yesterday explaining the situation, and asking if they'd be willing to take his case. I'll keep you guys updated when they respond!

Armenia has visa-free travel for Russian citizens and American citizens so I will be visiting him soon, too. :)

That’s great news!

Just curious, why do you assume it can’t be Poland? Warsaw is still the designated embassy for processing Russian immigrant visas; Frankfurt is the designated embassy for processing Ukraine visas. I suppose if he doesn’t have a Schengen visa then that could be a problem, but that would be the case even before the current crisis.

I assumed it couldn't be in Poland because EU airspace was closed to Russian planes, I thought he would be barred from entering Poland. 🤔

But despite that, he's now residing in Armenia on a work visa. It would be easier for us to interview there because he wouldn't need to get a Schengen visa and his new place of residence is there.

I still haven't gotten an email back from the US embassy in Armenia but I've received my NOA2 in the mail, with my fiance's beneficiary/alien number.

If I wanna ask to transfer a case between embassies do I call NVC now before it's sent out, or do I call once it's in Poland and ask them to send it to Armenia? 🤔

That’s a fair assumption indeed, especially because Russians need a Schengen visa to make it to Warsaw. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the US has decided to make Warsaw the official embassy to process Russian k1s.

Please let us know if you have any success transferring your case to the Armenian embassy, I’m sure a a lot of us who have beneficiaries in Russia would be interested doing the same.
