We requested a transfer of the case on 10/21/21, received an email response on 10/25 that the case was transferred and to check our online CEAC account for updates. The account was not updated, so we followed up on 11/27/21. Received the same email response that the case was transferred and to check online. And then within a few days, the online account was updated with the WRW number. We received an interview notice on 1/28/2022 for 2/28. Our case is family based immigration though.

Hi everyone! Was wondering if there has been more data on how long it takes to receive the appointment after the case transfer to Warsaw. I’m sponsoring a parent for the IR5. We got the case transferred from Moscow to Warsaw and in Nov 2021 got a new NVC case number. So far no developments. Thanks for any info or advice.

2 months for us to get interview notice from the date we received the updated WRW number. WRW was updated in the beginning of December 2021, and interview notice received 1/28/22.

Thank you very much for the reply! We are still waiting for the interview date.

Hi, all! We transferred my dad's case from Moscow to Warsaw. We have received notification about change in case ID to WRW on 5th of November 2021. No news after that and still waiting on the email with invitation to the interview.

Seems like a lot of people with notification date later than ours have been invited to an interview by now... Has anyone else received it recently?

Hi Alexsf308, Have you received an invitation for an interview?

We tried other embassies too. They all declined. So Warsaw it is.

Hi, egur! Any updates on your case?

Hi, the same here! Our change in case ID to WRW was on November 9th, 2021. I called the US Embassy in Warsaw which suggested I contact NVC. NVC confirmed that the case is "documentarily qualified" and will stay with them until interview slots become available at the US Embassy in Warsaw. But they could not say anything about when the slots may become available or how long the line is. With all this uncertainty, I'm wondering if it's easier to apply for a tourist visa instead?

No, still waiting. The website says the case is still at NVC. I sent a follow up request through the askNVC but looks like they are several months behind on that too.

Yes we received the invitation finally. It took 76 day from the date of NVC approval letter to the day the Warsaw embassy emailed us the invitation for the interview. Calling the call center does not do much for speeding up the process. You just have to keep waiting. The best thing is for you to register on ustraveldocs.com website and keep sending messages through it every few days. Only send 1 message at a time and then wait for response to that message (responses have been taking between 1-10 business days depending on question type). If you send more than one message at once before you receive the response to the first message, the subsequent messages just get deleted by the system and the call center does not even have a record of them when you call. Just keep waiting.

You can try getting tourist visa. I wonder if they will grant a tourist visa knowing that immigration visa is being processed?

Hello, are there any guides or instructions on this whole process anyone can share?

From what I've read, seems people are going for Schengen visa, scheduling their medical exam in Poland, and calling their embassies to transfer cases?

I'm gonna keep reading but it can be hard to keep all this straight... 😔

Good suggestion, we don't have an official guide here on VJ but we probably should. When this thread started, the entire situation was up in the air. It annoys me the US Embassy themselves have not made a guide yet for Russians and others going via Warsaw. It seems they just expect people to figure it out on their own.

You can do the medical in Moscow or Poland. In the beginning back before Warsaw was the officially designated embassy, people were calling/contacting to get the case transferred. But now that it is officially the embassy for Russians, I think it goes automatically?
