Has anyone who crossed into US on CR1 around April end / early May received their green card yet ? It’s almost 80 days since entry into the states but no update on green card.

Your green card is your VISA in your passport. Once it's stamped, that IS your green card. If you mean you haven't received your Social Security Number yet,  you should call to see what's happening with it.

I think a few people around that time have received theirs by now. Did you pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee? You need to do that first otherwise you won't receive the physical green card.

Yes, I paid the immigrant fee 3 days prior to my entry into US (around April 27) and crossed the border on April 30.

Yes I am aware of the stamp. But I am referring to the actual green card. I did receive the SSN.

I entered last week through Pearson and there was no problem at all with the quarantine exemption. The CBSA officer at Pearson looked at my vaccination card only, not my negative PCR test results from within 72 hours. However, if you are flying the airline checks the negative test before allowing you to board, so this may be why the CBSA officer asked if I had it, but didn't ask to see it. I had a paper PCR test result, but electronic would also have been fine.

Hey! I just got my covid PCR test done at Walgreens and am planning on coming up to Canada on Friday night. They told me at Walgreens that it would take 3-5 days to get my results back. Obviously that’s no good since I won’t get them back before entry. Where did you get your test done and how long did it take to get the results back?

Also if anybody else has gone through this and may have any suggestions, I need to make sure that my test comes back before Friday night. I’m panicking now that I might miss my sisters wedding because I won’t have the results back in time.

Go back to Walgreens and get the ID NOW NAAT test, it's also free and is acceptable to Canada. Results are guaranteed to be back within 24 hours.

I got turned around at the customs trying to enter the USA in December because I had no ties to Canada

on another note, It was great running into fellow VJer @Riversong

Congrats!

Can you describe more of your experience of getting turned away?  I travel frequently to the US and Im going this weekend to visit my wife. But im so anxious because I dont have any ties to canada really except car insurance (for my moms car), multiple canadian bank accounts, and a pet, and a potential doctors appointment for when I return at end of August.

Id be entering via Pearson.

I went to a private travel clinic and got the PCR test results back in 15 minutes. But it did cost $135. It was worth it for me because the places that have free tests couldn’t guarantee a turnaround time within 72 hours.

This is from last year. I am guessing the backlog still exists: https://www.jdsupra.com/legalnews/uscis-discloses-delays-in-issuance-of-32189/

Anyone have any insight on how long or what happens while in AP? How can I get updates or check in? The interviewer said all documents are in order and had everything he needs. Had to assume it has to do with my application withdraw or I just got a mean dude idk

Unfortunately AP is a bit of a black hole. Sometimes AP involves a need to get a security opinion from other departments within the US Federal Government or with countries lacking secure and verifiable civil documents, extra time to do background checks. Those AP's can last a long time.

In your case it sounds like they need to check the circumstances surrounding as to why your application for admission was withdrawn in preclearance..I would imagine it would be to ensure there's no inadmissibility there. Once done, then they should be able to issue you your visa. -touch wood- I wouldn't think this should take too long.

You can check via CEAC to check and confirm your visa application status. It'll change to 'Issued' when it's been approved.

This must be so nerve wracking. Since I had the same situation as you and had to withdraw due to lack of ties, I suppose that also awaits me. 😢 @Kai (CanadaDude) is on point, I am crossing my fingers for that that itll get resolved soon

Hi everyone,

I have my Green card and crossed sometime last year. I received a 2 year instead of a 10 year green card. I filed the i-90 form last year and I got a letter in the mail (I-797C appointment notice) asking me to come in for biometrics..

Anyone familiar with this process? I called USCIS but, the agent seemed clueless. _ have 2 newborns and don't want to leave home (2 hours away) until absolutely necessary.

Thanks!
