"If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment."

I saw this in FAQ. Does this mean you get an email notification after the interview when a passport is ready to be picked up at the Canada Post Office you selected as a pick-up location when you registered for the interview?

I'm wondering if directly picking it up at the Canada Post Office is better than selecting  the "priority service" to have my passport delivered to my address. Maybe it will save a couple of days of a passport traveling from the post office to my address and also eliminate the small risk of it getting lost in transit.

I also chose that option for the same reasons.

Same here, got my tracking number on Friday and I’ve been receiving updates from Canada Post as well so can confirm you will receive an update. Plus, getting it at the post office is better for peace of mind in my opinion than a delivery person arriving at my building, not feeling up to reaching out to me and just marking it as no one was available to receive the package.

Do you guys know how long it takes for them to deliver your passport back to you? And I assume we need to choose post office near where we live?

Officially they say 3-4 weeks if approved on the spot. In reality, it’s a lot less most of the times. But could be longer if refused, missing documents or AP. Consult the ‘Passport Returned’ column on the spreadsheet to get a better understating

Yes this is what people shared in the past, so I ll wait 😅. What option did you pick on the first page ? I selected the first one (NVC sent an email and this for the registration of the appointment)

Oh I tried to register too but it also said not ready for the interview message too. I assume it takes a few days before it registers into their system?

I am also getting the same error message under case number, saying case number - not ready for an appointment. I will give it a couple days and try again. I read the FAQ that Visa Journey has and seems it’s a common problem so will give it a few days. There’s and email that they provide to resolve this on the registration online form but will hold off. I copied and pasted that technician support email and the instructions just in case. I’m hoping it resolves itself. I just don’t want to deal with anything else. Lol.

For those of you who have interviews in august , are you planning to leave Canada as soon as you get your visa ? How long does it take to get green card after entering usa? Are you planning to come back after getting green card to dispose property , pack up etc … just curious how people have been planning the move as it is so uncertain regarding when you could have got the interview

I plan to do my interview then spend the next month closing ties to Canada then packing and moving. I may be wrong but once u leave Canada and activate ur visa at a poe u no longer have health care and fall under and all new tax system. So if u sell a home after u owe USA tax on the income too I think.

Hello everyone,

Just an update on my vaccine waiver. It was approved in a matter of 1 month, so I am completing my visa by mail.

If you are planning to use such waiver you need to use the form I-601 and you need past waivers you have used as

proof. Also letters from family and friends confirming your convictions. Nice to see they are still approved!!!!

1. For those of you who have had interview, did you take an updated affidavit of support as instructions just say to bring most recent tax return ?

2. also if you took updated tax return or uploaded it , is the irs transcript sufficient or the whole return ?

3. Btw , our lawyer said we don’t have to upload updated  documents in caec; can just take it with us to interview . What has been your experience

Congratulations @Flowergirl 737!

Would you mind sharing if your waiver request was for allowance to not be vaccinated based on personal beliefs? Was it for yourself or for your children? This is just for future reference, as I have seen the matter come up before on VJ from other posters and there weren't many people with experience. Your case would serve a good precedent.

My vaccine waiver for allowance to not be vaccinated based on religious beliefs. I am a Christian, so I explained my belief in the Word of God and how vaccines violate that. I did get help in wording my letter from someone on here, so I want to thank army14 very much. I did not mention that I was a part of a congregation, as the congregation does not believe as me. So you can  stand on your own belief and do not need to be attending a church or congregation.

I think same goes for the ones who would stand on their conscience belief and not religious. The waiver was for my son as well, who has not had any vaccines in his entire life. I think what really makes a difference if you are going to get approved or not is to be able to prove that you have not had vaccines in the past and this is your lifestyle and belief. You need to prove to them that you did not just decide to use a waiver to get away from the vaccines now. So I had 3 waivers I have used in the past for my work place dating 2015, 2017 and 2 for my son for school dating 2011 and 2015. These waivers were very important to prove my case to them. Also, you will need a letter from your doctor stating that you do not take vaccines. The doctor where you go for your medical here in Canada will require you to bring a letter from your doctor instead of proof of vaccination. I also had a letter from my husband and a friend saying they know me for this amount of time, and they have seen my actions and decisions in life were always based on the Word of God. But bottom line if you do not have some concrete proof like waivers from the past you have used it is more difficult to prove your belief and all you have is letters from people they know you and doctor letter, which are still good. I know not all work places require vaccination, I just happen to work at a place that did require, and my son did require it for school.
