I am hijacking the thread a bit since we are IR-5 category ; and unfortunately there aren’t too many of us so asking questions here

our interview date is august 2

question - May be getting a little ahead here , but after visa approval how much time do we get to come to USA?

Anyone have recommendations for cross

border tax planning expert

Parents of US Citizens, also immediate family and thus same priority to IR1/CR1. I imagine their interviews are scheduled along with IR1/CR1, on the same days...

Alright I'm dead inside but I have been plotting data based on statistics provided by DoS. Here is the data set for Montreal:

1445887692_ScreenShot2021-07-09at4_00_34PM.png.d9b2c0a9656c3da50c133371f6d8f35e.png

Our current VJ members that had their interviews in the month specified are listed below. As you can see, we seem to average about 5--8% of the total processing per month.

As you can see, there is 0 consistency. This is everything before the Month of No Letters for which I assume the downward trend will continue. With such an immense processing pull back in May 2021 by almost 30%, I think it'll be indicative to how the next few months will process what with them only booking 1-2 weeks of backlog per month. When June stats go up, it'll be an even futher dip. So basically all I'm saying is they hate us all, they are accountable to no one, and they can choose to radically restrict services despite the easing of COVID restrictions.

All this to say that there are still no patterns or trends. There is no point in speculating when or how many because even they don't know and have no commitment to consistency or communication with applicants. I'm going to drink an entire bottle of wine in a bathtub while I cry s I'm at least recycling my tears.

IT IS INSANE.

I have now come to terms that they're moving around 10'ish days each month:

JULY
Sept 9 - 21
13 days

AUG
Sept 22 - Oct 2
11 days

I just realised that the number of days when interviews are schedule in July and August for IR1/CR1 is the same - 4 days in each case.

Thus, I think, while it seems to us from the cut-off DQ dates they are interviewing fewer applicants in August than in July, it may just be that there are more applicants with DQ between Sep 22 and Oct 5 than Sep 9 and Sep 21.

That being said, given the green zone, I was expecting them to interview MORE applicants per day....and that doesn't seem to be happening...

@PHM @gavinski91 @MA1793 @MadKittyCat @John416 have you guys heard anything yet or is the cut-off October 2nd?

No...I didn't get anything. Looking like we'll be waiting almost a year total for a 5 minute interview when they have everything they need already in our paperwork!!

Why can't they get themselves together? My workplace, a public institution where I interact with the public, has been operating at full capacity for almost a year!!! What makes them so special that they can operate in such a manner at our expense? This whole thing is just too much.
