Oh that's right! Thanks for confirming. I hope they allow people who enter earlier to stop their quarantine on the 6th with proof of vaccination.

Let’s hope! I’ll have all the proof with me…let’s see what happens!

Anyone here is from AB or BC ? How many business days did it took for you to receive the passport after interview? Trying to book a U-Haul, possibly as soon as possible, as I have a job lined up and want the SSN asap.

Just finished up my medical with Dr Cheema in Surrey. Great experience and just an all around good guy. Exam was a breeze! Flew out of Edmonton at 7am and arrived in Vancouver at 7:15 local time. Grabbed a taxi and go to the medical at 8am (my appointment was at 9am) but they got me started on the small amount of paperwork and I was out by 9am to the X-ray. That took 15mins and then off to the lab which was just down the street. Had to wait until my appointment at 10:30 which Cheemas office made! Out of there by 11 and at the airport having a beer at noon. Lots of time left for my 1:30 departure back to Edmonton…

one step closer!! 21 more days! Seems like these days are dragging on, but we are almost at the finish line

Has anyone applied or granted Canadian Citizenship after receiving Green Card ?
If yes, do we have to inform USCIS about change in Citizenship?

I will be in the same situation, so have the same question...

I am guessing if you did not renounce your earlier citizenship, it is less important, but if it is a CHANGE (renouncing of old citizenship and taking up of Canadian), I think USCIS would need to know. Not sure though...

Did you receive an CR1? In that case, perhaps the time when you apply for removal of conditions would be a good opportunity to inform them of change of citizenship.

Please let me know should you find out the answer...

This is a good question. For Canadian Immigration, I know someone who became PR & citizenship on PR card is the birth country as she was not a US citizen before. Last year became US citizen so she need to inform IRCC and renew PR card to change the citizenship shown on the card.

Comparing the PR Card, in US Green Card it shows "Country of Birth" and not "Citizenship". Even though it does not show your Citizenship, I just think that you will need to update USCIS to update the Biographic information and I think since when you make international travel and as you arrive back to US you will present to IO  your passport and green card. May be best is to call USCIS and talk to Tier 2 officer  and ask.

CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE

Filing type: Online

Service Center: National Benefit Center

Local Field Office: San Bernardino CA

Date Filed N400: 06/2019

Biometrics Appt.: 07/2019 (25 days)

Interview Date: 01/2020 (6.5 months)

Oath & naturalization: 06/2020 (11.5 months)

:joy:Finally & Officially a U.S. Citizen! :dancing:

That's good to know. I am a long way from becoming Canadian citizen, as I will only be applying in October. I guess I will call after I become a citizen.

Anyone remember when the April immigrant visa statistics were posted? Idk why it feels like they're taking such a long time to post May... Maybe they're realizing they did not issue enough visas that month and are doing some trouble shooting? 😂

You are not wrong, it is indeed a long time. They posted April statistics on May 19.

Posted elsewhere but there's lots of traction here. Is there a concern for my husband to change his address in Canada to his moms address? He travels a lot and doesn't make sense to spend money on an apartment in Canada and help out with our mortgage. He works at a mine and visits US as often as he can. If he has to stay in Canada he can stay at mom's, friends, or a hotel. Would this affect our immigration paperwork?

I have already got my IR1 so I wont have to remove any conditions. I will keep reading and see if USCIS actually has a requirement to update the Citizenship

Why not call USCIS and ask?

Hi

What documents did you need for your cats? Is rabies vaccination enough? Thanks

If driving, rabies should be fine. If flying, you’ll need a health certificate issued from your vet within 10 days of travel.

Check what your specific state needs. Most are just rabies.

Not tons of help, but it was a week.

The spreadsheet has a bunch of this info, though.

He can change it, but he will likely need a “lease agreement” with his mother as a proof of residency/residential tie to Canada if he visits the US in addition to a letter of employment.
