I’m in no way a medical authority on this, but most vaccines can either be given at the same time as others or require 14 days between them, excluding multiple doses of the same vaccine which have their own rules (e.g. covid vaccines)

You can compare your vaccination records to the table shared from CDC in this thread around  week ago. It’s quite straightforward and it was exactly one to one what the doctor reviewed at the medical.

@DGF thoughts on adding a link to the CDC’s table to the FAQ? Seems to come up a lot lately and it’s a fantastic resource.

There was already a list of required vaccines in the FAQ but I added a link to the table below that for people to reference :)

Please, please keep us updated regarding their responses... I paid $150 + tax to get my police clearance through the Commissionaires and it would be nice not to have to pay another $150... especially that I have not even been back in Canada since my most recent one 😒

For sure, I will post here as soon as I hear.

Curious, why $150? Because you had to get two Police certificates, one for maiden name, one for married name?

Because I am outside of Canada :) and they charge $150 for the international criminal check!

Quick question. Can I get my COVID shot 3 weeks in advance of my Medical ? Or is it risky?

There should be no risk.

Random but has anyone gone through a name change during this process by any chance? I (petitioner) want to take my spouse's last name but we filed everything with my maiden name. We were DQ'd April 30th 2021. I'm not sure if we should just wait until this is all over out of fear of messing up the interview somehow,  especially since it looks like we'll be waiting a while for one. I don't want to do anything that will make it take even longer

Thanks for highlighting this discrepancy. I actually saw this yesterday myself and assumed, the new requirement was simply not updated.

I just sent emails to both NVC and Montreal flagging this, and asking what the validity of the police certificate is for a candidate interviewing at Montreal. I will update all should I get a response.

Many thanks for your help. I was afraid they wont accept the teared police certificate so I got my finger printing done and ordered a new done. I am hoping I get it on time before July 23rd.

I am in the same boat. Changed my name due to marriage and name change document is my Marriage Certificate. However, since my passport was not updated in time for the i130 and DS 260 submission, my current name at NVC is my maiden name.

I asked Montreal : "We would like to apply the DS-260 form and submit all supporting documents as early as possible so as to not lose time in the immigration process. Updating the passport to show my married name would take considerable time and there may be further delays at the moment due to the pandemic. Thus, we were hoping to submit the DS-260 with my maiden name and with my married name listed as "other names." After we submit all documents, we intend to update my passport to show my married name, and then bring both passports to the interview. Would that allow the visa to be issued in my married name?"

Below was the response I received from Montreal, so should you have enough time between now and the interview, you can update your married name on your home country passport, bring old and new passports to the interview and inform the CO. That would ensure that the name on the visa and subsequently on the green card will be your married name. Should you not have the chance to update your passport in time for the interview, you have the opportunity to update the name at the time of removing conditions (incase of CR1). This would not incur any additional fees. However to update the name otherwise after green card is issued cost a fair amount (I don't recall the form to be submitted, but can try to find out should you need it.)

Thank you for this, I'm assuming that it may be easier for me since I'm not the one getting the visa. But that still seems straightforward enough if all you have to do is let them know of the change at the interview. I may just go through with it and then have my wife bring two copies of everything that I get changed to her interview just in case.

Hello everyone,

Base on this website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/MTL-Montreal.html#pre_interview_checklist

If you previously submitted to NVC an I-864 affidavit of support (AOS😞  Bring proof of your petitioner’s legal status in the United States (photocopy of a U.S. passport, birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or legal permanent resident card) and their federal U.S. tax return (Form 1040) from the previous year.

If you previously submitted to NVC an I-864 affidavit of support (AOS) completed by a joint sponsor (not the petitioner):  Bring proof of the joint sponsor’s legal status in the United States (photocopy of a U.S. passport, birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or legal permanent resident card) and their federal U.S. tax return (Form 1040) from the previous year. If the joint sponsor’s tax return includes a spouse, then the spouse must complete Form I-864A.

I just want to double check if I got everything right. Could you guys help me confirm few of my questions please?

1. For the interview, do I only need to bring the photocopy of the passport's biological page of the petitioner and the joint sponsor?

2. If my wife (petitioner) passport expired during the process, is it better to just photocopy both of the expired and unexpired passport's biological page?

3. It stated that we only need the photocopy of the birth certificate (long-form) of petitioner and joint sponsor. However, it is more safe to bring both original and photocopy of the birth certificate (original and notarized version)?

4. I assumed that IRS tax transcript instead of the tax return form 1040 and w2 would also work?

Thanks!

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. If it asks for photocopies, that's all they need.

4. Tax transcripts are fine.  Proof that not only were taxes filed, but that the IRS has actually reviewed them.

Oh sorry, I missed that, in your case, it is the petitioner and not the beneficiary whose name has changed. My email to Montreal was specifically about the beneficiary's name changing (some of the email I didn't quote in my earlier reply).

Since there is no change with the beneficiary's name, there should be no problem getting the right name on the green card. The petitioner's name on their passport may not matter... If you decide to get your passport updated, I agree, carrying copies of both should be sufficient.

Ugh…if only I didn’t need to leave by July 3…instead of flying directly in Montreal, I’ll need to cross by land. Sucks coming in from the west coast, but can’t overstay my B2 visa which expires on the 3rd 😓

Let’s just hope I get my IL for Aug 🤞

I KNOW RIGHT!! I thought of you when I heard the news...My husband is also driving in on July 2 so just shy of three days. He can't delay his trip because everything is set up with his work and he has to leave Canada by a certain date and doesn't want to shorten or time together.

But here is the good news (maybe) - I called the helpline just a short while ago to ask if come July 6, can my fully vaccinated husband get out of quarantine sooner, provided his test result at the border is negative.  This is considering people arriving after him do not need to quarantine. The answer - they don't know yet. They are still figuring it out. They suggested we call again after July 5. Tell them - "Hey my test is negative, here is proof of my vaccination (second shot received more than 14 days ago); can I be excused of quarantine?"

So we are going to try that....
