Has anyone been asked for petitioners original birth certificate at the interview? Our lawyer sent a check list with a couple highlighted items that I don’t have and one is my wife’s original birth certificate. I find it odd that they would want to see that document as it’s all been uploaded for NVC and on ceac.
Also for the recent people going for their interview: don’t forget to register for your interview. It was nice to sign in to ceac and see my case at Montreal today!

Nope. I needed our original marriage certificate but not his BC

Has anyone been required further attestation from your primary care doctor/specialist for the medical? I know they ask for your medications and health history and etc… but right now I take medication to manage mental health/depression etc… and ADHD I’m really scared of getting caught up in AP because the medical exam is asking further documentation.

if you don’t want to discuss it on a public forum, please feel free to DM me directly!

For those Original documents, do they give it back to you or they keep it?

Anyone knows if they want to see the original Birth certificate from Joint sponsor also?

They give them back. It’s more a check do ensure they are legitimate.

@Fobosdaemios please follow the instructions in my signature and fill in your timeline.

You need the originals of the beneficiary’s documents (The Canadian) and your original marriage certificate.  Photocopies of the petitioner documents are accepted. To be honest, they never asked to see my petitioner’s identity documents, nor our co-sponsor’s.

for the DS260 form, I didn't know about the vaccination records so I noted that I lost it during high school (which I did)... However, I got a full vaccination record from my family doctor. Would it affect me still since my documents are DQ'ed already?

I can't imagine why it would affect you.... You filled the DS260 with the best info you had then. You subsequently obtained your records. You should be fine!

Any update on your file

Hey All,

I did put in an expedite request, I’m waiting on that.

The consulate replied to my emails with information from the their consular updates website, nothing specific to my case. I confirmed with NVC that I am in the right category for spouses of US citizens. I spoke to a tier two agent, again everything with my file checks out, no explanation they could provide, only over and over again I’m still in line and eligible for interview at any point.

On the bright side it’s summer and I will try to enjoy.

@From_CAN_2_USThank you for your suggestions, they really helped. I didn’t even know about the tier two agents and expedite request at NVC. I really appreciate everyone’s input. I’ll update in case it helps anyone else.

I had my medical done today with Dr. Zatzman in Toronto, all in all took around 1.5 hours for the exam, x-rays, blood & urine tests. I would have written a detailed account but I found the meticulously detailed review by @ADW & JOP  to be very accurate in my experience. I followed it almost to the letter and it made the experience smooth. here's a link for those interested:

Our lawyer suggested the same which means my wife is going to have to mail it via courier... another stressor added since sending important documents via courier makes me nervous. I THINK he also said the original Affidavit of support but I might have misunderstood, dont quote me on it I would have to double check.
He also said updated marital evidence etc which from what I am seeing, they dont ask for at the interview. I think lawyers put those on the list in case they do ask its better to have it than not have it.

Same here. The lawyer gave a list with two highlighted items. Birth certificate of petitioner and updated police certificate (which is a long story) but she is going to send BC today and I still haven’t received my police certificate due to a “glitch” from the police department they were taken at. Thankfully I did see they updated and it appears to be valid for 2 years now so I hope my last one will suffice. Also the lawyer said to bring 20 pages of pictures and travel itinerary's 🤷‍♂️
Went today and got the 2 passport pics and an expandable binder for all the documents oh and 250 sheets of printer paper lol
