Hey...just a quick question here. How flexible is Dr. Cheema with appointments for the medical? Are you able to generally get any day you want or is it pretty strict?

Thanks!

I need some urgent help - does anyone here know the current requirement for U.S. citizen to travel back from Canada to U.S.? I think there is a requirement for negative COVID test if you fly in, but if you drive/take taxi across the border do you still need a negative COVID test? Again, please note my question is for U.S. citizen returning to the U.S. Thanks!

They can be reasonable. We asked for a particular day of the week the first time and they accommodated that. But their appointmentments can fill up sometimes, so it's best not to be too picky if you can help it, especially if you're on a tight timetable, otherwise you risk a delayed visa. They won't do appointmentments without an interview letter.

No. You don't need covid test when you come by land back to US.

Great, thanks! someone just told me that Canadians are not allowed in to the U.S. via land border unless they are essential, is this true? I thought U.S. was letting tourists in?

I found this on the us customs and border security site via google

https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1596?language=en_US

“On March 21, 2020, the U.S., Mexico, and Canada temporarily restricted non-essential travel across the US-Canada land borders. These restrictions will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 21, 2021. We are maintaining cross-border activities with Canada and Mexico that support health security, trade, commerce, supply security, and other essential activities while taking critical steps to protect our citizens and to curb spread of the virus. “

I am not sure of this one

Have you or anyone you know crossed in to the U.S. via land border recently? Just curious if you are speaking from a personal experience. Thanks!

US is not allowing tourists in by land. Essential Travel Only (except for citizens, LPRs, work/student visa holders and IV holders are exempt for US entry restrictions.)

For land entry:

Canada --> US - No test. No quarantine. Essential travel only.

US --> Canada: Neg PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to entry. Test required on entry as well. As well as test on day 8 of home quarantine. Participation in the ArriveCan app is mandatory. Essential Travel Only.

For Air Entry:

Canada --> US - Negative Antigen or PCR test 72 hours prior to departure. Non-essential travel allowed.

US --> Canada - Negative PCR test 72 hours prior to departure. PCR test on arrival, stay in hotel quarantine until results are provided. Final test on day 8 of home quarantine. Essential Travel Only.

IMPORTANT: Canada does not accept rapid antigen tests, it MUST be a PCR test.

You are a lifesaver. Thanks!

FYI, titer tests don't check for tdap even if it's requested (at least not in BC, might be different in other provinces, I'd check with your dr).

As mentioned Tdap doesn't tend to be tested for with the titers test. Plus for those who need a booster make sure it is Tdap not just TD

Oh thanks for the heads up.

Hi I communicated with them today through email. They asked me which day I prefer and I said July 1, but they were going to be closed

on July 1. So they gave me June 29 app. From my experience with them, they seem to be flexible. Just make sure you send them an

email as soon as you receive your IL and you can call them on the phone if you don't hear from them in a day. When you call them, make sure

wait until the message ends, and then it will go through and someone picks it up. I didn't know this, so first I thought it went straight to voice

message.

they do the missing vaccines for a cost. better off to get them done before as they are covered by provincial health care
