I agree! I was visiting my husband in Arizona when we got the email saying we were DQ'd. I rushed back home thinking I would get my IL within their "1-3 month timeline" (what a joke)  10 months ago....this is beyond BS IMO. And Montreal is horrible for expediting cases. My husband was in a motorcycle accident last month, non life threatening injuries, but still needing help to walk the dog, clean, cook etc.... not approved for an expedite.

That’s insane!

Hope your husband gets well soon...

So when my wife and I last saw each other, she took the LF marriage certificate and I kept the short because we weren’t sure if we would need something on either end. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of long vs short form marriage certificate? Do they have a preference?

We are anxious about courier service because like- god forbid anything happen, but will do it if we have to.

I would bring both to the interview. They asked for both to qualify us. It would suck to be put in AP for this.

Thank you. Was crazy. He was cut off and hit. Like I said non life threatening injuries, but our bike is totaled. He has torn ligaments in his left shoulder and lots of bruising and scrapes. His riding gear saved him. His jacket, gloves and helmet are a write off as well, can't imaging what injuries he would have had, had he not worn them

He has to go to physio twice a week, but is on the mend now

Hmmm... so from this chart, taking the benchmark of NAO2 = DQ, the latest NOA2 fo K1 scheduled for interview is Jul 7. There is no record of those with NAO2 in Nov/Dec getting interviews. @Shumai84 shared one such instance, but could that be due to an expedite request? They couldn't have jumped the queue without some exceptional reason with people waiting with NOA2 in June, July, August, September, October still waiting.

Going by this data. MTL doesn't seem to have gotten K1 caught up with CR1/IR1 even until the end of July. They are still at least a two months behind.

Thus, it is left to conjecture:

1. MTL could choose to bring K1 up to speed with immediate family, which would be in accordance with the guidelines from DoS and assign those additional days in July between July 2 and July 26.

2. MTL could assess that they can get K1 caught up over the next few months with immediate family, despite continuing to interview immediate family, and allot interviews to immediate family between July 2 and July 26.

Unfortunately, 1 makes more sense to me to be likely, especially since MTL did not interview K1s for three months (between December 7 2020 and March 2 2021) when Immediate Family were being interviewed.

But hopefully, MTL having more information than we do, assesses 2 to make more sense...

I don't think there chart is accurate, or they haven't been charting consistently.

According to the STATs page, there were 41 K1 visas issued in Dec 2020, there were only 12 in Jan 2021, 6 in Feb 2021 and 43 in March. And I really doubt all of them are expedited cases.

*** One post removed for veering into other topics outside of the core subject matter of the thread. There is no need to make comments about the effectiveness of a vaccine or whether or not people should take it. Stick to the Montreal DQ topic.

At least there is a silver lining with the Canadian government expected to lift quarantine regulations for vaccinated travelers entering Canada in early July. It doesn't do much to overcome the issue of those stuck in limbo not being able to plan their lives for a permanent move, but it should make traveling back and forth across the border easier.

I don't think this forum should be used to debate the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, perspectives that contradict that of the world's leading immunology experts risk promoting misinformation. And this forum is about immigration, not a place for debate about who should get the vaccine or not.

Hey y'all. We just submitted our docs to NVC  (DS 260, financial docs, and what not). So just to confirm what I am sadly reading on this thread...the time between submitting these documents and receiving the interviews is usually a matter of a couple months, but according to recent timelines and what people are saying here, we likely wont get getting our interview until...like next March or April?

Unfortunately, the outlook at the Montreal consulate is grim... I submitted to NVC in April 2020 and I had the same rude awakening as you...

The wait has been on average 9 months from case complete to interview post-Covid. We do not know if this wait will increase or reduce going forward, but the fact that Montreal did not schedule any interviews for IR1/CR1 in June and the jury is still out on whether there will be any interviews in July, will only exacerbate the backlog.

Here is the tracker that we are all closely watching on this thread:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LvnDvX95_tfWtTvsJJM49PDPPvPKal0WG2rgdZHhsz0/edit#gid=255923754

I would be mentally prepared for a very long wait. The only ray of hope is that with COVID restrictions easing up, MTL will interview more applicants per month reducing teh backlog, and shortening the wait. But there is no guarantee this will happen, because MTL may choose to use those additional slots to interview candidates from family (siblings, children above 21etc) and employment based categories, who have been waiting since 2019...

If you have the option of transferring to another consulate which is not backlogged (most of us don't), I would suggest you do that soon after you DQ, so long as you are certain the backlog at that consulate is significantly shorter and there is no issues for you travelling to interview there and obtaining a police clearance from there.

That being said, congratulations on completing your submission to NVC. You are one step closer to reuniting with your spouse. Here's to speedy case complete and hopefully shorter wait time to interview.

I found this on the FAQ on the CEAC portal:

"To update the mailing address or phone number of anyone associated with a case, please contact NVC using our Public Inquiry Form. Remember that whenever you contact NVC please provide your case number, the name of the petitioner, and the name and date of birth of the principal visa applicant."

Here is the link to the public enquiry form:

NVC accepted all my docs and fees and DQ'ed me on Sept 23rd 2020, and still waiting for an interview, the jury is out whether I'll even get my interview in July and I'm mentally prepared for August, so it's looking like 10-11 months right now. x.x Absolute nightmare.

It actually does effect me as I had to reschedule my interview because being outside of Canada, Canadian quarantine requirements made it impossible to fly to Canada, do my medical, renew my PC and fly to Montreal for my interview in a span of a month 😟 Just sharing the challenges I encountered.

Yes, I think the action and comments was against another post. Not the one by @HD_BIRDS
