Getting a response from the Montreal consulate that someone from the visa unit will contact is a positive on a Friday. They even said thanks for your patience which I have never read, when receiving an email from them!

Are you talking about the auto-reply they send out? This was all I got when I emailed them a month ago, just sent them another chaser because I'm so fed up at this point lol.

My wife just got done pulling me out of a week long depression over Facebook. Going back and forth supporting each other. I ended up having 5 shots of whisky and going to bed at 8. I wish the consolate read these posts and saw what people are going through with no communication.

It's the worst! I can totally emphasize with you.

That's great news, congratulations! Hope your husband have swift recovery from surgeries in the US.

Please keep us VJ folks posted how it goes.

I hope they are scheduling expedited cases first and then open up the rest of the slots for NVC to schedule interviews for regular cases next week...

So when my wife and I last saw each other, she took the LF marriage certificate and I kept the short because we weren’t sure if we would need something on either end. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of long vs short form marriage certificate? Do they have a preference?

We are anxious about courier service because like- god forbid anything happen, but will do it if we have to.

Quite honestly the videos posted have sucked...royally. They were absolutely full of non-answers.

The only question I want answering from them, above anything else is "When will MTL request further spousal cases from the NVC?", honestly, if it's September, November, whatever, I really don't care, but I want at least a month so I can plan. Right now I'm paralyzed as I can't do anything given the fact that I might have to book a medical/flight/interview with two weeks notice. DX Like hell, if I knew it was gonna be another six months, I'd probably plan to go to the UK with my hubby for a few months and work remote from there as he'll get 6 months leave to enter.

Christ...I need a vacation, this stuff has been way too stressful, oh wait, I can't. Dx

I think we need to bombard the consulate with messages over the weekend, it'd be cathartic at least.

100% if we knew when to expect our ILs we could make arrangements to visit with our spouses!!! The not knowing when our Interviews will be, the 14day quarantine upon return is barely enough time to make it back for medical and Interview.  In pre covid times we could have continued visiting, we had been doing this our whole relationship.  This covid has f-d everything up

Nothing in London today either...whatever is going on in MTL is also going on in concert with LND...or it's just a coincidence. My hope is for Monday at this point, but I'm mentally preparing myself to wait another month failing that.

Maybe they heard me planning to transfer my case over to them and they decided to join MTL in their games...I jest.

I'm also watching consulate in Poland ....everything on hold there too for almost 2 months now :( What's going on? Have they suspended issuing CR1?

My husband is having multiple surgeries this summer so we’re asking for an expedite and it’s been at the consulate since May 25. We are hoping for an interview as he is back to the states for more at mayo in July.

So happy for you that your expedite is approved! Hope your husband gets through the surgeries fine and gets well soon!

Also good to know that Montreal does issue expedites in such cases...

Not sure what you are referring to. Did you get married in Canada or US?

When we got married in Dover, NH, the office asked us how Many copies we need. We asked for 3 and they said we could come request additional ones at any time. The original is in their office and they don’t give it to us, they only issue copies. That’s as good as original though.

So you can probably go to the office where you registered your marriage and get additional copies for a nominal fee. No fear of couriering because they are easily replaced.

Oh, also the lady at the office notarised one of the copies for me, and said often for immigration that is required. That’s the document we used for our submissions.

I would recommend bringing the document you uploaded for your submission to the interview.

Wow, congratulations on getting an expedite! Montreal doesn't give those out easily. I hope his surgeries go well :)

Non-answers, the specialty of the bureaucracy! It is frankly unjust how we are being treated. I am happy to submit all the documents they want to show I am a genuine and safe individual, but a 2+ year wait time to process an application is something USCIS needs to be held accountable for. The least they can do is answer our emails...we're at their mercy no matter what they say.

Anyway, I'm headed to Alaska...I really don't know what I am going to do if this is delayed into fall/winter and I'm facing a winter move up the Alaska Highway. The whole situation is just one stress after another. Anyone know the stats on divorce for people going through this? Or a long-term need for a psychologist? I feel like my brain structure is changing from living without joy and fulfillment for so long.

This!!! LTRs are hard to begin with, but this added stress isn't helping!!! I'm sure we will need some sort of therapy after this is all over. I feel like I need it now
