Here is an update after my POE.

POE: May 19

SSN: June 2

GC mailed: June 1

Good luck to everyone who is waiting for an interview.. I can only imagine how difficult it's been 😢

Hey - do you mind sharing where you are in the states? My spouse crossed the border on April 30 but still have not received the green card. She flew into Newark.

I am in Georgia. Has she signed up for an account on USCIS? She can check the status of her green card on the website. Hope that helps.

Seriously!!! I am so ready!!!!!!!!!!!

On that note any recent experience with rpoof of domicile?  DL, voters registration, health insurance, school registration, bank and cc statements.   Is this enough or do I also need lease or utility bills?

I don't even know what to bring for proof of domicile other than a photocopy of his driver's license. We live in a hotel that has been turned into apartments, and there is no lease. Our WellsFargo is paperless. I am wondering if a copy the car renewal would be sufficient with his DL?

lads I am CRACKING UP!!! my landlord won't allow me to renew my lease month-to-month here in Toronto. I have a job lined up to start in August in Chicago... I am LOSING IT! What do we think? Will there be invites this month?

I am hoping, with all fingers and toes crossed for good measure, that we get our letters this month! I know when I lived in Ottawa after my year lease was up, it went month to month. Unless things changed in the last 5 years?

Current estimates still have the Montreal consulate booking next DQ booking date around Sept 6-8 2020. Most people who are active on this thread right now are Sept/Oct 2020. Welcome to the bad place 😂🎉😩

LOL The Bad Place ;) I needed a little chuckle today! Thanks for that ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

She is just checking the status using the receipt number. It’s just showing payment received. Does creating an account give more details ?

For bank or credit statements, you can check with your online account with the bank, I'm sure they have bank/credit statements that you can download in pdf. With Bank of America, you can even request your very old statements like even 5 yrs ago. The car registration renewal or car insurance monthly bill is considered too as proof of domicile. I assume your spouse have a mobile and receive that monthly bill statements. With that he/she is establishing a proof of domicile.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but when going over the documents we needed on the department of state website I didn’t see anything about proof of domicile and now I keep hearing about it and it’s making me anxious. Is it mainly needed if the American citizen doesn’t currently live in the states or are documents also needed for Americans who live and work within the states full time? My husband works full time in ND so I thought his taxes and pay stubs were enough but now I’m just nervous I need more. Again sorry if it’s a dumb, I was DQ’d oct 6 2020 so we’re hoping for an interview in the next few months and I want to make sure I have everything! Thanks so much

If the American spouse lived and worked full time in US, you don't need to provide proof of domicile.

thanks for this! unfortunately I live with my landlord and it was always the plan to be out by August 1st, so they have a family friend moving into my room. i'll keep on top of it, might just have to couch hop for a while :P thanks again everyone! ❤️

I’m considering booking an Airbnb in Montreal and just booking it until sept 31- what a nice problem it would be to have prepaid for a month or two but losing it because I got my IL. I’m mostly scared of getting to the end of sept and still not having anything and having to move to another Airbnb or something 😞😞

You mean next IL to come will be for DQ date sep 6-8. Not that the IL will come in September. Don't give people heart palpations!

Yes sorry- I should’ve clarified because now we really are all in a place where we are so terrified about the status of immigration interviews not resuming until Sept 2021. Honestly, it has broken something in me when I tell myself they really could just DO that.

I'm sorry??

Only see 6-8?????????

what about till sep 30?????

Sorry to clarify we can assume that the IL’s DQ date is currently queued around September 6 to 8, 2020. Anyone after that time has not received an IL.

IR1 - DQ Oct 16 2020

Looks like I get the same information when I check the status using the case number I received after paying for the immigrant fee on the USCIS website.

Sorry, but just curious why you are considering doing this? Are you worried about provincial border closure not allowing you to get to Montreal in time for the interview?
