Hey all, just a quick update
CR1 interview was May 12th. Got my passport back May 17th. I crossed at the ambassador bridge May 22nd to activate my visa. I imported my truck and had a small uhaul. Was through in about 1/2h with no issues. Super easy process.
Good luck to everyone still waiting for interview letters. The wait is most definitely worth it! Keep pushing through.

@DkwCan you tell me what's involved in importing a vehicle?

You just have to get a letter from the dealer/manufacturing stating that it meets the US safety and emissions standards. For that I needed to show proof of ownership and mileage. I went to the local dealership and told them what I needed it for. They knew exactly what it was and did the rest from there. It was very simple. I wasn’t asked for anything additional at the boarder, but there was one form I had to fill out while there that they stamped stating that it had been imported. I was given two copes. One to keep with the vehicle and one to take into the Department of Transportation to register it in my state.

So, make of this what you will.

In the month of June 2 and 3 separate dates for July K1-visa interviews.

Why do I have this feeling we've been put on hold for the next two months judging by the looks of it.

They say each category has a separate workflow so I still want to be hopeful, but I do fear they might skip for two months in a row for CR1/IR1.

I see another IL was sent on May 26th this week for July 2nd K1 interview. It's interesting that their ILs are trickling on many different dates instead of releasing a whole batch in one day every month.

It's been 50 days since the last April ILs for spousal......

One point that I see overlooked a lot when comparing is that scheduling K1 and CR-1/IR-1 differ from one another. While we have DQ and then a direct interview, K1 is sent to the consulate, which follows up with P3 and then they schedule. If you look at the K1 spreadsheet the ones that got scheduled for June/July had left NVC back in April but not later. If I had to take a wild guess, that seems to suggest that the consulate is clearing backlog of cases already at the consulate before opening up new slots. K1/spouse or otherwise.

I also want to be hopeful they are using this time to clear CR-1/IR-1 that are stuck in AP limbo at the consulate.

That's an interesting point. Actually I'm not sure which date is considered DQ for K1 category, maybe NOA2?

I kind of gave up on trying to find a pattern since there isn't any. Even before covid, they suddenly stopped interviewing spousal during the summer back in 2019 for no reason, and they issued tons in Sep as if the flood gate opened.

Who knows, maybe they just take a long summer vacation and literally that could be a reason for this holdup.

My DQ date is 21st September 2020. I have an electronic processing and I check https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx for the status. It still shows my documents are at NVC. I wanted to know that am I looking at the correct website? How do I know when my case will be moved to Montreal Consulate?

The link https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx shows nothing other than what I saw on 21st Sep 2020. Am I missing something?

that's the million dollar question I'm afraid. if things were going as they were you should have received an invite by now. no invites were sent out for the month of June. so, if you're lucky you'll get something for some time in July, however there is no way of really knowing. you should be next in line. my predication is there MAY be invites sent out on wither 06.04.2021 or 06.11.2021. if not by these date's, we should get a little bit worried. either of these logins above will do.

Same date as us. The case will show at NVC until you get an email saying you have an interview date, and who knows when that will be. It's been a frustrating/disappointing last couple of interview cycles for sure. Hopefully us Sept/Oct DQ  will get our ILs this week or next
