Hi everyone, so my spouse came to visit me for 5 months in 2020, left early 2021, while we await our interview. I was wondering if it was possible for them to fly out here again to spend some time with me while we await our IL? Or is that not allowed since it hits close to the 6 month mark for visit limits?

Also, can they skip the hotel quarantine  if they drive through the borders?

Hey - Can you please fill out your VJ profile and follow the instructions in my signature to have Hawk Riders add you to the tracking sheets?

Hi there, I hope someone can answer my question because NVC is helpless. My daughter who is 5 years old was DQed by NVC in May 2020. My process took longer with USCIS and I'm not yet DQed as they asked for additional documents.  Now, for interview at consulate do I have to wait another year or does my daughter's waiting count for me too?

Hi - same thing, could you please fill out your timeline?

You and your daughter's interview will be scheduled together.  If you have a RFQ, you won't be considered for an interview until you're DQ'd.  The fact that your daughter iis already DQ'd doesn't mean you'll jump the line...she'll be held up to match your DQ date and issued an interview based on your place after DQ.

I doubt they’ll give out a direct answer to what is happening at the Montreal consulate and the lack of IL’s for June but it can be a great opportunity to ask how are visas processed/how consulates approach reducing the backlog in their day to day. Might shed light on the illusive different workflows and help us understand the actual work being done. Maybe even a sassy question like why interviews are not scheduled throughout the week when there’s a holiday might help us predict better

I noticed that K1's have interview dates for July 2 and July 26. I didn't think that they booked that far in advance . So disheartening to see them get ILs and we don't get any

I was watching the June bulletin visa and realised there is a cap on greencards even for family based. Being processed from Canada, we are not really impacted by that right? It's impacting countries of high immigration only?

I don't think that there are caps on family based visas issued to US Citizen families. I think the cap is for all other classes

I have a feeling in the coming week or two Montreal will issue interview letters for CR1/CR2 for July.

I hope so!

They MUST be managed by different departments. It’s the only thing I can think of that makes sense.

@NimF this is exactly the approach I want to take! Maybe we can coordinate something and upvote each other’s questions so they get more attention?

Great idea upvoting the questions! Hopefully my shady satellite internet will stay connected for the live video, otherwise I will be stuck watching it after. I'd love to pop off some questions ;)

There are caps on family visas for Relatives of US citizens, but no caps on immediate relatives such as spouses, Unmarried children under 21 and parents . It would apply to other category of family such as Children over the age of 21 and siblings.

Short answer - no caps on IR1/ CR1 for US citizens regardless of what country their relatives hail from. However there are caps on spouses of LPRs.
